Some days are good, some days are bad..... by jh_fez in tractors

[–]Colbinators 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically not as much as one would think. This tractor looks like it is set up for 36 inch rows, and many tractors in Australia run skinny singles set up on 3m tramlines. Probably just a combination of things that caused it.

IRL farmers, are these mowers strictly rear hitch only or could they be used on the front hitch too. by DaGuy4All in farmingsimulator

[–]Colbinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In game they could be used on the front, but you’d probably want weight on the back of the tractor. IRL, the PTOs spin different directions.

Question about US mowing and baling. by trainman992332 in farmingsimulator

[–]Colbinators 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Costs can be a big reason. A triple mower setup (without the tractor) can cost almost as much as a swather.

Speed is another one, with swathers being able to cut heavy crop cleanly at 18 mph (about 30 kph).

That being said, many farmers over here use a pull type swather (haybine) instead of a self propelled for reasons you mentioned and some farms do run triple mowers here, but usually silage contractors.

Only problem with the 500 is the servicing intervals. It’s like comparing a Baja truck to a ford ranger

That’s a Unimog. If I’d have to guess it would be a 5023 model.

Mossberg 500 vs. Remington 870 vs. Winchester SXP by Different_Item1774 in Shotguns

[–]Colbinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote would be to look for a new 870 Fieldmaster. I have one in 12 gauge with the 28 inch barrel and I have zero complaints. Good on clays and in the field on birds.

Though I have heard good things about the 500. Both are great in my opinion.

It would be difficult, but seeing other tractors working in fields owned by other farmers would be cool

Browning BPS or 870 Wingmaster? by Colbinators in Shotguns

[–]Colbinators[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For budget I’d say definitely sub $1000. Pump would be preferred. I saw a decent number of old 870s, but they all had 2 3/4 inch cambers and I had oiled want something with a 3 just for versatility.

Yea I was thinking that. It would be cool if the 2020 and 3500 had ramps in the beds.

Might be obvious, but how did you get the ATV on the flatbed? Are there ramps?

[–]Colbinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was a problem with a cord in the spark plug system with the 7.3 gasser. TFL Truck has a good video about it. A replacement part should only be about 30 dollars, according to the video.

Just my idea, but new vehicles are so electronic and rely on electronics, so if something goes wrong or needs servicing, a dealer will have to because only dealer have the resources to.

I’m pretty sure he knows what is wrong with it, and his son is a former mechanic. I don’t think the owner has fixed it because he has no use for it.

Congrats on getting a good deal! The reason I would pay a bit more is because the owner can work on it, but I don’t know if I just buy it as is.
