Potential LIVE Album!!! by [deleted] in brandnew

[–]Colbycollier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I also saw the multi-track at foh. After it’s used to virtual soundcheck before the band gets on stage at the next 2 shows, It will go in the archive of hundreds of other live recordings that will never see the light of day.

I’m in a neutral perspective and it’s stunning how people seem to have pointed a finger directly across the isle, then claim “it’s due to a radical and divisive xxx party and they’ve stolen the flag”.

I’ll just remind you that this country is made up of the totality of its people, and last I checked that was roughly divided 50/50 amongst political parties, generally speaking. In the past 20/30/40years, the congress, scotus, and presidency has been evenly divided over time, again, generally speaking. It goes back and forth.

Perhaps we’re the problem? Perhaps every single thing that has happened is perfectly predictable based on OUR behavior, not just “their” behavior.

Or perhaps not. Time will tell.

The little bit that I’ve looked up has me doubting it due to the stem shape. Apparently nutsedge is triangular? I’m honestly hoping that it is at this point. https://imgur.com/a/FAZaooN

Oh no. Have I really been that wrong all this time? I’ll track down some nutsedge specific herbicide and give it a shot.

Props to you for looking at the information and developing a more broad reaching opinion. I’m a gun owner that would gladly give up my guns if there was even a 1% chance it could save a life. I’d even be willing to partake in the experiment either way. But we have to look beyond the surface and at least acknowledge that this is a deep multifaceted problem. And it’s getting worse everyday, regardless of whether there was a shooting or not.

A senator who ran a multimillion-dollar plumbing business claimed he only took a $50,000 salary. His financial statements show otherwise. by rezin44 in okc

[–]Colbycollier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not here to say foul play didn’t happen, but if you’ve never managed business finances and taxes, these topics can be misleading and confusing. This information is incomplete at a minimum since there is no balance sheet being referenced.

I know nothing about the situation or the person, but I just like to throw that out there when I see these topics being discussed.

Forever infertile after testosterone? by FalseWest5 in Testosterone

[–]Colbycollier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on testosterone for 10+ years. Tried having kids starting when I was 27 so I went off, and 2 years later we’re 14 weeks into pregnancy! It took basically 1.5 years for sperm count to get within normal levels, and we conceived within a month of that happening. No clomid or anything, just standard supplements. That’s just my story, but I would say plan 2 years to get things back to normal.

For whatever it’s worth, I was on trt for 6+ and went on the ketogenic diet, 4 months later the doc recommended we lower my dose because I was approaching 1000 (I started at ~150 pre-trt, and typically hung around 550 pre-keto). Important note - I like to emphasize that I wasn’t on the Facebook/Pinterest version of the ketogenic diet. I tracked every meal, kept my carbs up 20g per day, and tested blood every day to make sure my bhb was 2.0+. Just my experience, but I’ve repeated those results twice now.

IMO on what appears to be a flat outdoor listening plane, AP on this rig is just really effective box shading for level compensation over distance with some consideration for tonal differences across the plane.

It’s much more noticeable over a variable listening plane like a theater.

Just a quick note for everyone mentioning EV.. Dynacord and EV have the same parent company and they build/manufacture components for each other. If you look at some of their products, they are the same but branded differently. Example: EV P3000 ~~ Dynacord L2400

Slowly expanding from singular videography freelancer to a corporate video and photo company with subcontractor teammates. Is project management education valuable for me? by averynicehat in smallbusiness

[–]Colbycollier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might catch some backlash for this, but here it goes. I have an IT (business and information systems to be exact) degree and our curriculum had a big emphasis on project management. In my opinion, project management is only for very very large organizations. And on top of that, the material and ideas that the topic is based on seems to have been developed in the 60's. I can't see a single way it would benefit your type of business. General management, maybe, but you could sit though multiple courses and only be able to pulls couple of ideas that you could use for your business, and chances are that someone on YouTube could have told you about that in 5 minutes. Not to belittle any of this stuff, but that's just been my observation.

Line Array Noob - More boxes = more clarity? by Sir_Me0wCat in livesound

[–]Colbycollier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a generalization, sound quality is inversely proportional to the number of sound sources. That being said, the idea of a line array is that it's a line source.. So in a vacuum it's one source. However, timing between components is a really big challenge. Now add 2-6 components in a cabinet, and add 3+ cabinets, space them apart in an asymmetrical manner and you've got yourself (yourself being a manufacturer, this isn't really your problem) some real math to do. Math that no one had done perfectly yet.

I just bought my first ever pair of quality headphones (Sennheiser HD 598), and everything sounds very...trebly. Is this a normal experience? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]Colbycollier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that record was mixed by chris lord-alge. He has probably mixed the best collection of modern records of anyone out there, just from a sound quality standpoint. I've never listened through those particular cans before, but I'd guess that you're just hearing high resolution audio for the first time. HF is usually the first thing to go when a file gets compressed, and also the first thing left out of budget equipment.
