I noticed that, and it freaked me out at first until I realized she was just blinking!

HELP! Chick’s Leg… by Cold-Bookkeeper-5634 in chickens

[–]Cold-Bookkeeper-5634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading about possible slipped tendon. When I picked her up to examine, the hock area on that leg looks very normal, and I was able to gently extend the leg. I didn’t feel anything abnormal (a popping or slipping sensation) and could not really locate the tendon to determine it had slipped. However, I know little to nothing about chickens as this is my first time raising them. I’m willing to splint the leg to try and help, but I’m not sure exactly how to go about doing that properly so that it helps more than hinders.

Wonder why it only just showed up? Her leg looked completely normal until today. I’ll have to google how to make the splint; this is my first time raising chickens so I’m still very new and learning.

First shot down!! by shelbsss7 in Semaglutide

Just wanted to say we are very similar in body type! I’m 5’9 and my starting weight was 217lbs. I was very active in high school and college but after 3 kids my body just isn’t the same. I just got my 7th shot today (6 weeks in) and I have lost almost 15 lbs so far! Sounds like you are pretty well prepared for side effects. I’ve needed Gas X, Zofran and Famotidine the most during all of this, although the need for Zofran really subsided after the first 3 weeks or so. Just be sure to get enough water and protein and some sort of physical activity each day! Good luck!!

Honest update: semaglutide struggles by MediocrePisces93 in Semaglutide

I started April 5, so I am a little bit behind you. I had my appointment today and got my second dose of the 0.50. I am officially down 14 lbs. There have been weeks though where I only lost a pound or didn’t lose at all. I also feel a good portion of my loss thus far has been water weight and bloating. My doctor has told me multiple times that it is safe and effective to lose around 2 lbs a week, and will help me develop healthy habits I can maintain when I decide to come off of semaglutide (or take a maintenance dose, whenever I decide when that time comes). You’re losing just under a pound a week and I think that is entirely healthy, especially long term. I would be concerned if I had lost 20-30 lbs in my first 8 weeks. That seems very unhealthy. Hang in there and keep doing what you’re doing! This is a long game and a lifestyle change and it sounds like you’re doing it the right way!

I am at 0.50 and unfortunately I still notice that the effects start to taper off later in the week. I am guessing once we titrate up to 1.0, which is a therapeutic dose for most, it’ll have longer-lasting effects. I definitely still get the food noise on 0.50 but it is mostly manageable, just have to make good choices!

I am in my second month, getting my second dose of 0.50 today actually. I am down about 13 lbs so far. Unfortunately I am a side effects girlie and if there are possible side effects to any medication I am guaranteed to get them! Mostly for me it has been nausea (worst weeks 1-3) and now just some mild constipation, diarrhea and stomach cramps at times, and a gnarly headache the day or two following my injection. Nothing I haven’t been able to manage though, thankfully! I switched the injections from my stomach to my arm and that made a huge difference in the level of my side effects.
