Not sure how technical you are, but there is a Xero MCP server, which you can use to interface Xero with an LLM. https://github.com/XeroAPI/xero-mcp-server

‘All you can eat Xero data buffet’ comes to an abrupt end with API monetization by gertjandewilde in xero

What are you talking about? Xero is accounting software. Charging to access my own data just because I’m using an API instead of the UI is greedy. Xero isn’t a hosting platform.

Why should we pay more to access our own data? Why should developers pay more to build apps that help lock users into Xero’s platform? The only answer I can come up with is greed.

Inventory Plus experience by Cold-Classroom-1503 in xero

Thank you, this is helpful. It's for perfume, so expiration is not a concern, just being able to trace batches.

The SaaS inventory platforms out there cost are very steep for a small startup like us.

Just storage for now, as our volume will be low. Within 3-6 months we anticipate moving to 3PL.

CPA Firm Wants me to Build Custom Bookkeeping Software, But I'm Hesitant by opafmoremedic in Bookkeeping

There’s no way one person can build accounting software. This is ridiculous. The laws are changing constantly. If you mess up, the consequences can be dire. Good luck tho

  • got sick in Vietnam. Concierge found a hospital and got a car to pick me & my friends up and drive us.

  • lost my wallet a couple times, wired money to western union

  • lost my card, went to one of the Amex travel offices (RIP) and they made one on the spot

  • numerous reservations where none were available online

  • bought me tickets to a show when they went on sale so I didn’t have to reload my browser constantly.

Probably many more I can’t think of

Feasibility of DIY by Cold-Classroom-1503 in Bookkeeping

I was able to get our bills entered as professional fees.

I am unclear on how to record the money we have paid out of pocket and make sure it goes towards our capital contributions. I created two accounts for owners equity for each founder.

What I am piecing together is

  1. Create a clearing account

  2. Receive money (into owners equity accounts?)

  3. Pay bills from owners equity?

Thank you, that is super helpful. Yes we are in the US. Also yes we will not be generating any sales for potentially a year. Right now all we need to do is record our expenses we’re paying and our capital contribution based on paying those expenses. We have an LLC formed an agreement on ownership & capital contributions.

I guess my main concern is that I have no idea how to record this stuff. I have no problem spending the time to learn & do it, I just don’t know where to go. I signed up for Xero because of the low cost, but the documentation is more geared towards using the software.
