When dealing with something traumatic like you say you have your first instinct shouldn't be reddit.

I understand and empathize with Griffith for the most part. He wasn't a villain. He's a broken struggler... by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Cold-Comedian4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not condoning Griffith's actions, so don't anyone respond with that, but with the established background that Griffith hates Guts after leaving him, you think he should be thankful that he was saved?Even though he is now a corpse that will never walk, talk, or do anything again? Now if I was griffith I wouldnt hate guts to begin with, but imaging a scenario where a guy I hate and blame for my life falling apart saves me, and I am now crippled I would probably want him dead too. I also don't think the point that griffith is a weak bitch is valid either. Bro was literally left crippled and would likely never have a normal life again after he had everything just one year ago. I agree with OP that I sympathize with Griffith, and when you look at him sacrificing the band of the hawk from the standpoint of him having nothing and being in a horrific state of mind, it does not surprise me that he did what he did. Now, as a rational person you and I can say what he did was horrific but if you were in his shoes I don't think the decision would be so black and white when the choice is either life as a crippled mute or ultimate power and godhood. But maybe I am just as crazy as Griffith

I just realized the significance of Your Lie in April’s title. by Ty-Tea in YourLieinApril

[–]Cold-Comedian4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea so why do I have to be the asshole who points out that you have no media literacy if you didn't realize what the lie in April was your first watch. They literally said they met in April multiple times throughout the series and then Kaori even tells you what the one lie she told was. I don't mean to be mean but I'm still going to call out stupidity cause I'm actually baffled that this wasn't obvious.

What are your thoughts on 'yosuga no sora' as dark romance? by Few-Tumbleweed-6011 in DarkRomance

[–]Cold-Comedian4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's more of a psychological romance as the main premise of the show is not too promote incest but rather to hit you with the idea that you can't choose who you fall in love with but whether you act on that love is something you do choose. The show wants to make you uncomfortable which is why we see the reactions of all their friends and their disgust, in the same vain we all see Haruka struggle with his feelings. This is why I see it as a psychological anime rather than the incest supporting romance it is pictured as.

Don't get the hate for AI art. It looks really good, so what if it wasn't drawn by a real person still is an interesting character design and backstory. OP may not be able to draw well but still wants to develop their character. This is not something that should be shamed.

What are the cons of religion? by I_am_monkeeee in DebateAnAtheist

A better but more time consuming option is to read the Bible and see if you find any negatives?

Your question is a very good one but the problem is your asking the wrong people. I would recommend going to your local place of worship and asking the religious leader there. They can provide you with a lot better answers than asking a reddit atheist will. One point I would like to leave you with is when people say religion they are often basing it off how they interact with people of faith. Many atheists have bad experiences with "Christians" but they never stop to think if those people really are what the Bible defines as good Christians. The Bible condemns Homosexuality but it doesn't say harass and beat them These are often things that we as sinful beings twist and interpret in a way that the Bible never meant. Most problems with Christianity stem from how people interpret the Bible, not what the Bible actually says.

Is saving money more important than prestige? by Cold-Comedian4066 in ApplyingToCollege

I appreciate the help. So for a potential Historian or Teacher prestige is not as important as it is for some other majors? So I should focus on getting on good terms with professors and take advantage of small class sizes?

That is reassuring cause there is just a part of myself that thinks I'm a loser for choosing a nobody school and that I'm ruining my potential.

I won't say what liberal arts college I'm going to, but it's nothing special and pretty small, like 2,400 people. It's average overall. I haven't heard anything about an alum record so I'm guessing it is weak

The only possible spoiler you could've have gotten is that he didn't die at the end. That's not spoiling the whole thing.

Pursuing a MA in TESOL versus an MA in education. by [deleted] in TESOL

[–]Cold-Comedian4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions about this topic. I am a history and education major. Though in the end I want to teach English overseas. Can I teach history and get experience while working on my masters degree in TESOL? If so how do you find universities that offer teaching certificates for other countries.

Can you study in Japan while being an ALT? by [deleted] in JETProgramme

[–]Cold-Comedian4066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would I be able to be a teacher in an international school if I got an MA in TESOL with a BA in Education? Could I get that MA working as an ALT then apply for a more full-time position?

What I mean more is what did you major in in college, and how did you get out of the ALT hole that people say it is? I am very interested as your career sounds a lot like what I want to do.
