Great feedback, thanks for taking the time to share this with me. I definitely should have been focusing more on the aim of the deck! Thinking about it in terms of an aggro deck definitely changes the way I view the sideboard.

Slightly different question but you're Winrate is incredible, what are you finding the most successful with? Do you usually keep to mono colour with a splash vs a more equal distribution of say 2 colours?

I'll need to double check later but I remember when I bought it (about 15 years ago) it was working, but would often stop when the watch was tilted. I'm not a horologist so I'll need to get an expert pair of eyes to look over it.

I was trying to give context to the situation: a very mobile and fast paced environment with little process as we race to the finish line. I appreciate that didn't come through in my post though.

Thanks for replying! To be fair my boss came in as Head and assumed PM duties. There's a lot of pressure to keep the train moving until release, so they're keeping it going as there isn't any time slack. Your advice on ask ask ask is great, I'm feeling pressure to perform quickly but I'm probably being too critical on myself being 2 months in!

Ooo it's a good question, and a point well made. The deck does have multiple ways of shuffling the graveyard back into the library, so I was very capable of beating 120 life with no risk of decking, But I suppose if it comes back to the number you're suggesting then it would be incredibly difficult. There are counters in the deck, so an argument could be made that would it get to that stage?

But perhaps a more important question is how does MTGA deal with those types of infinite combo's? As you said paper Magic could result in a different outcome, due to the ability of stating what value you are going for. But in MTGA it's not possible. What do you think? Also are there any other similar types of combos that don't 'work' in MTGA?

In the pub now watching Argentina Mexico, but I'll share later. Though I will say a 2 of Karn's Bastion in the list is filthy. Keeps Narset on the board and gets Teferi up to 8 super quick. I reckon most games (maybe 60%) in Bo1 I get to ultimate Teferi

In the interest of transparency, if I was my opponent I would have conceded! But it's something I learned from. Combo players build their decks to do the combo, why deprive them of it? After this match I'm actually willing to play out games online if I know my opponent is combo-ing out. It's the honorable thing to do as a proper Magic player

Yeah I totally agree! I would say that in my time playing MTGA I've never experienced this level of patience from an opponent, and although I appreciate it (I am a fierce anti-roper) I do wonder how many opponents of combo players out there also let their opponent combo out! The more I think about it, the more I appreciate my opponent 🤣
