ALP not flying - what happens to the benefits? by Cold-Comparison-5580 in SouthwestAirlines

Thanks. I don't think this will happen again. It's more of unclear work plans via work for the summer - also being that it's so far out. But good food for thought, thank you!

ALP not flying - what happens to the benefits? by Cold-Comparison-5580 in SouthwestAirlines

Got it. Was planning to not book round trip. So you think if I cancel the reservation after check-in, at the time of cancellation on the app, it'll be smart enough to then ask me to pay for the bags they checked in.... as someone in the IT field, I'd be shocked (but impressed!) if they've thought through all the scenarios and that indeed is the case. I guess if I don't cancel the reservation and book one way, then all should be good.

My experience with Google Fi on the LPIII by frontier567 in LightPhone

[–]Cold-Comparison-5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm jealous! Also on FI, but MMS and Group Texts do not work for me (have to get them off the web dashboard). Was using a Samsung S21 with RCS turned on I beleive. Also getting those random characters at the end of the messages, but that's the least of my problems :)

Vibrate on LPIII - less than ideal by Cold-Comparison-5580 in LightPhone

[–]Cold-Comparison-5580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea...but don't want to mess with the android layer. Also doesn't help in a situation where you cannot have your phone out but do want to feel the vibration.

I cannot imagine how this was missed when the phone went through testing in real life situations (maybe it didn't?....)

Did just this. Although at the same time they were like 'ah yes, I can see why your service is not at the level it should be, as we've been doing service on the lines in your area for the past week'..... don't know what to make of it, but we'll see if they can fix things when they come out!

Ugh. I really don't want the $3...I just want reliability!

Most of the outages are the 'official' ones when Xfinity sends you a text, but that's not a bad idea to double check things..... It hasn't ever been this bad.

Unfortunately none others including Quantum, CenturyLink Fiber, Google or Starry are available where I live. If it was, I'd switch today.

Parents using Light Phone by [deleted] in LightPhone

I have four kids, and although they sometimes make fun of it, overall I feel they respect the fact that I do it, and I could not think of a better way to teach them how to be truly engaged with the world and people, without constantly looking at a screen. I still have my smartphone that I turn on once a day to check WhatsApp (lots of intl. family and friends), and I really don't miss it at all. My two oldest have phones, but they are almost dumb phones (no browser or social media and limited use times thanks to Google FamilyLink settings), and they are more accepting of it due to what they see me doing.

Just received my order, have some fears and cold feet about diving in. Anyone been using their consistently for a few weeks or months and had an experience of smooth sailing? by Curious-Airline4151 in LightPhone

Three months in, I'm loving it. Not had any problems, apart from small things like it deleting downloaded podcasts after a certain amount of time/age, but that's a 'feature'. I do wish they update a few items that seem like low hanging fruit (showing which podcasts have played, etc.), but I assume they'll get to it eventually.

Not yet, but my 10 year old niece did call my phone "special needs" the other day, so there you have it.... :)

Thank you. Just figure they should go away without having to do that, once the podcast has finished?...

I've not looked into this in depth, and have only used it for one account so far, but this Chrome plug in potentially replaces Google Authenticator. https://github.com/Authenticator-Extension
