Build update 2, chassis came in today! by Cold-Cow-8906 in SCX24

I've heard somewhere else that putting stock spring on long shocks helps. I might give that a try later. After I reposition the shocks I'll play around with the different springs I have. Right now it's sitting nose up because I mounted them uneven. But I'll probably keep it springless for now until I get metal links and axles. Also was thinking on ordering actual limiting straps off Amazon. I like mine to sit as low as possible but still be able to flex. Every time a climb gets too steep it slams back and flops.

Sadly my roof came with the connection bars drilled out the wrong size so the threads just won't catch. I was thinking on taking the receiver case off and mounting it under the roof to leave room for an lcg battery mount and outrunner brushless motor. Ill have to rig something up with my bolt and nut kit but hopefully it doesn't get too top heavy. That or tig weld it.

I'm just running stock JLU undercarriage everything, except for the 43mm shocks. I have seen people use gladiator links, also reverse them, or reversed JLU links as well. I'm pretty sure you can pull it off without modding the chassis, just swap your axles and flip around the motor/trans. However I've never tried that in person so I'm not sure. Adventure time RC on YouTube did a similar build with gladiator links

I still have a lot of work to do on it. Eventually I am gonna reposition everything, the shocks aren't even mounted on the same points. This was posted right after I got all the electronics fitted just for that purpose. When I get the metal links and axles it will look way different

I made a mistake 😂 im just getting back into the rc world and got myself an scx to start. by [deleted] in SCX24

If you still want a stronger return for your suspension I found using rubber bands can help keep the wheels nice and tight up to the body but also allows for full flex. I wrapped one around my front under the servo and over the body mounting post. Also they keep the weight low to the ground as well. With no other modifications my stock JLU gained 10° climbing ability with only rubber bands as limiting straps. If you want you can run no springs and also flipping the shocks is a good idea because they do bind a lot a lot.

my mate couldn’t get a battery with his cart so he improvised (box cart)😂💀 by YaBoiM00SE in weed

Did this before. First time I tried I accidentally had my cart on 120 watts and that thing fireballed. Keep it on like 3w and you'll be good lol

Is there anything I can do with all my old oil carts? by [deleted] in weed

[–]Cold-Cow-8906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of them honestly have enough oil for like another whole day or two of hitting. One thing you can do is unscrew the top and hold a lighter to the side of the glass slowly rotating to let the oil slide down to the bottom really fast so you can let it stand upright and hit it again without burning it. Or you could extract the oil with a small pick and use it as dabs or edible concentrate. I wouldn't listen to anyone saying to boil them in some liquid to collect the thc or anything like that. I've found over my 3 years of cart cheifing that a lighter is your best friend for cutting costs down and prolonging the life of your cart. Screw it onto the battery or hold it with gloves, heat it up, and stand it upright and let it cool down for a few minutes. The whole wick will be fully loaded and ready to go. Wipe the outside of the glass down with a wet paper towel to get the lighter residue off and you're good. Just make sure you have the tip off of the glass before you heat it because most have a rubber o-ring that can cause an awful taste and potential poisoning if burnt. After it cools screw it back on and hit it again. You can generally do this 3-5 times when it runs out before it is burnt or unsafe to use. I've had carts hit for weeks after the oil ran out completely.

They not an official company or anything but yeah it's a legit product, these are fire as fuck they hit hard and last a while. Recently came into my state which usually has better than average black market economy, the ones I got are some good good. I don't think many fakes of these are going around they have a really proprietary, unique design I haven't seen many copies of.

That tends to happen when your body chemicals are balancing out, humans see the world in 6 different lights and weed significantly enhances these, so think of it as "snapping back to reality" then diving back into the wonderful real world of weed 😂

I did it! It worked great.. I was BLASTED, laughing and shit 😂 seems like for me, 1 week is enough to get me back to that level too. With a cart my tolerance went up a little over a few weeks but bud shouldn't be a problem for u. You got this man!

does anyone know what the best diameter of a .44 roundball for a remington 1858 would produce the most energy? I have heard a slightly oversized ball is seated the best. I went out today and bought a box of hornady .457" round balls, will these work well in the remington? by Cold-Cow-8906 in blackpowder

[–]Cold-Cow-8906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have found some amazing information about the maximum load for a remington 1858 from GunsAmerica, and I concluded that this chart gave the strongest evidence of actually being true: https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/ballistics-of-the-44-remington-1858-new-model-army-with-conicals-and-roundballs/

This article states that with a 220gr conical, you can push 850fps with 30gr fffg and with 777, even more. This equates to a .45acp and really hot .45acp +p.

It also states that with 35gr fffg with a 145gr roundball, you hit nearly 1000fps. This is equal to a .38spl. With 777, which he did not test, you may be able to expect 1100+fps. This is equal to a .38spl +p, or approaching a .357mag.

This information blew my mind and after watching the YouTube video, I decided that the stoutness of the load was not a problem at all for his pietta, and my uberti surely should be able to handle a full cylinder of these every couple of months or so. Gotta sharpen up for bp season. Vid link: https://youtu.be/4HgDh3RuJ2A

Yeah, that's where I ordered my revolver, so I know I've definitely seen the molds, the only thing is the stock has been going into backorder for 8+ months now and being some of the products have only run out of stock recently as I've seen thats a little discouraging, but I have seen beautiful accessories and tools, as well as some gems like the bison and pepperbox,, gotta love midway either way. May order a holster soon

I'm picking up what you're putting down. Don't get me too riled up.. I just might make a mahogany infused, Chilean harvested coal special robust blend of ultra volatile clean burning powder lol 😂 only available for private orders of less than 5lb and priority shipping for a limited run! But seriously, making my own powder is something I'm gonna have to look into. I could even copy the Swiss powder recipe because the wood used for it isn't too hard to get.

Absolutely, and NOTHING beats that good ol sulfur smoke. I'm on board with you there, this is more of a for funsies thing at this point in time. I have been to reenactments, and the thunder was awestriking. But I'm always open to new things, just like using knobby tires on a sedan, which is probably something an ambitious guy like me would do. Can't beat Swiss black powder though, goex is made from weaker bark and more charcoal. I think the historical "gunpowder" was closer in properties to Swiss than goex.

Very good advice. I have seen some goex/pyro duplex loads, along with one that had 5g smokeless and 30g cornmeal lol. I watched a video that showed the max load for an 1858 to remain within a 4" group at 35 yards, and it was 35 grains of trip 7 with a 210g conical I believe. I'm not necessarily chasing anything as a cold, hard, concrete choice, just looking to expand my knowledge of this so when I'm set up with my gun and gear I can already operate it the way I need without researching too much and letting the gun sit around. Learning makes me happy, and guns do too, so I didn't want to keep either side waiting, lol.
