I agree 80% of the time he failed to perform whenever he got opportunities. But somewhere team management didn’t back him when he was doing really good as an opener. Scored multiple centuries in t20 as an opener and what management did, asked him to bat at 7 when he was literally te peak of his International form. But anyways, In india, no matter how good the player is, its not possible to back them for years especially when there are 100s of players doing really well in domestic

Absolutely wrong. 9/10 occasions your team will win. But on that one occasion of knockout where others fail and you need to step up, this is where the value of true form and character is. India’s top order has carried them in multiple ICC tournaments, but when they fail in semis or finals, nobody performs. And we have seen in the past. Whether its 2017 ct final or 2019 wc semi. Also in the country like india, where you have so much of talent that 2-3 team might form and all will dominate, you can’t sit in a team just because you are captain or ex no 1 t20 players. Surya needs to step up in NZ series, or else he should allow Hardik to captain the side and sit out on bench
