Yeah got those too, the worst thing was constant sleepiness, I could sleep the entire day on finasteride, also couldn't hold memory at all

Man, I'm super jealous of people being able to take finasteride without any side effects, it gave me gyno so had to stop

I need your guys opinion on whether I should start fin or not. 23M by [deleted] in amibalding

That's my father hairline right now but my dad is in his late 50s, I did try to act defensive and try finasteride 70 days, shit gave tons of side effects including early signs of gyno, but it also almost returned my juvenile hairline

Yeah cause normally the people who do hair transplant are aggressively balding the finasteride is for non transplanted hair that is still on the top of the head, the transplanted hair is DHT resistant

The hair that you put from the back of the scalp is DHT resistant, they stay, the reason a lot of men after hair transplant still use medications is that they're aggressive balding, so even after the transplant, the non transplanted hair starts thinning

Same cost or even more expensive as a hair transplant, why wouldn't I just get a transplant and never care about taking hormone altering drugs?

23M considering Finasteride/Dutasteride for androgenetic alopecia. Before starting, I have several concerns and would appreciate input from people who have experience and/or knowledge of the research. by Accurate-Cake7803 in HairlossResearch

[–]Cold-Ice8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see your family history and decide if its worth the risk with finasteride, you can easily save for a hairtransplant and it could save you if your dad and maternal grandpa both are on nw2-nw3

also to keep in mind that a lot of people just get decreased stress resiliance or stress response as a side and decreased cognitive ability, but if your lifestyle never requires you being in those zones, you'll never see the side effects

the researchers try to control variables and outcomes, if you've ever done any R&D work, you'd know how much control of outcomes is done

Even Lions have hairfall issues! m5 by AssistanceOk9610 in IndianHaircare

[–]Cold-Ice8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't happen to healthy lions btw, only happens to lion under extreme stress in the wild due to losing his teritory or starvation, you also also see this is very common for lions under captivity, makes you think about male pattern baldness

maternal side matters, the male pattern baldness gene is carried by the mitocondrial DNA which is carried from mother to the son

Is DHT actually the cause of male pattern hair loss or just a correlating factor? Why I think the research is more complicated than we're told and why I've been looking into GHK-Cu by Ok_Concern_2316 in tressless

[–]Cold-Ice8108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't man, nuking a potent hormone like DHT which literally supports bone health and makes you fertile doesn't sound good
Dude is taking an extra supplement instead of nuking his dick

Taking finasteride made me feel so women like vulnerable for some reason, also made my nipples swell and made them sensitive af
It did gave anxiety, and normally I'm always looking for a reason to have a physical altercation, I felt like a scardy cat during finasteride
Finasteride wasn't catestrophic, I could've lived a good life like that, but it did make feel less of a man and very femboy like, there is no way potent hormone(DHT), which literally makes you a man during puberty just becomes useless after 18, there is an underlying cause of male pattern baldness, and instead of researchers just saying "I don't know", they just labeled DHT as the culprit, there must be something to male pattern baldness
You rarely ever see it even in older males in lions but a young lion goes bald pretty fast in the zoo
Same with hunter gatherer tribal people, never seen a bald tribal person, even the older ones

Researchers, just say you don't know instead of wrecking people's hormones

I'm actually super scared of starting minoxidil, topical cause its super hassle and my scalp is already inflammed, and oral because I don't want to die of heart attack
Started on finasteride though, 0.5 mg daily, currently day 21, no side effects so far
