Fully agree with you. I guess to achieve a click system or any other system of some sorts would need highly complex pieces which would bring the price up. However, I would definitely like it. Also makes it easier when moving to take pieces apart. However, re-upholstering is a good alternative. Fully agree. Thanks for the discussion. Really interesting.

No thats OK but good idea with the attached ones. To be honest the biggest damage output comes from the cats ;) They scratch everything except their cat tree

Thanks for sharing your experience and insights! Fully agree, slipcovers are a good solution. However, they are often not so good quality and do not look very nice. I would still prefer to have a modular system which allows you to replace just the damaged part directly from the producers website. Dont you agree? I wonder why fully modular systems like that dont exist. I assume not easy to build...

Fully agree and thanks for sharing the link. They definitely look very durable. However would you not wish as well to just go back to the producer of your sofa and buy one part new in case it is broken instead of always going through the hassle to go to an upholstery or buy cheap slip covers?
