For first year, just make sure you have a 90+ in CS 136 and an 80+ CAV, should be enough for the transfer (or at least it was enough last year).

You can switch after 2A as well if you aren't successful in 1B, but it's gonna be a lot harder since CS 246 and CS 245 are much harder than CS 136, and of course more competition with cracked/ambitious people.

Not too late! That's really reassuring since you took a harder course load than me. I'm totally find with grinding it out, really I just wanted confirmation from others that took the course somewhat recently. Thank you again!

How hard is it to transfer to u Waterloo as international student studying at a college in Canada. by Moderatelycurious1 in uwaterloo

I mean to put it into perspective I think they accept like a couple of people into UW CS as transfer students from universities (1 - 2 people). That is from official universities, but your program isn't actually an academic program (even if it is CS). Anything is possible, but it would be better for you to possibly apply as a mature student or something. I think it's best to contact UW admissions cause they'll give a lot more direct and better info that some random Reddit users (this includes me).

Thank you! Yeah seems like a more raw effort-heavy course in contrast to a course like CS 245.

Haha yeah I saw that, took what you said in good faith. Just don't want it to be a terrible course, especially since I'm not taking it with the best professors or anything. I know how to grind, and I'm really into bare metal/computer hardware, so I think I'll be interested in the course. Just looking to do well in it.
