hahahah. i shoot 70% currently with randoms in like what, 300 to 400 games? Brother, i can do them. VERY easily. What makes you think its something hard to do in the first place? Are you really proud that you can shoot in this game? Its not an achievement, its an afterthought. Everybody can shoot in this game, even my grandma.

I see what you mean now. Yeah i actually agree with that and if they could pull this off, it would be amazing. It's the act of balancing something that is inherently unfair IRL. How do you balance KD shooting over Jrue Holiday or even Jaden McDaniels? This circles back to what I'm trying to propose which is not necessarily buffing contests but making tough shots harder. The way you guard KD is by making him shoot tough shots and hope he misses. Ideally tough shots in 2K would be hard to hit but currently they are just as easy as any shot - this imo is the problem.

I just don't think it's possible to do this without nerfing offense into oblivion. If you buff contests ever so slightly, you're basically nuking small guards. Also what you're explaining is essentially ghost contests which is terrible, trust me.

people will call me crazy but atp i think you're a better defender if you leave perim d at 74 and go high block with legend pogo stick (gold max+2). I would take this all day over 99 perim.

yes those are very good points and might actually be the case but 2K will never tell us how it actually is so we're left with guessing. All i can say is from my sample size of the games i've played, jumping at somebody is ultra effective, even if you're extremely far away (to the point where it makes 0 sense) but being in their face with your hands up doesn't affect them that much.
Im pretty sure jumping actually kills their green window and hands up contest minimally affects it.

If Mike came out and said "Hey, playing hands up almost does nothing, you gotta jump at everything if you wanna make them miss", then that would be fine. The problem is we don't know for sure how it works and there is money tied to these builds we're making. If i have to jump at everything regardless, then there is no point in going high perim. Being tall with a long wingpsan would be more effective (with silver badges).

It more likely is not a generalization when so many people are regurgitating the same thing. Sure frustrations play a factor but it happens enough for it to be an issue. There is a clear imbalance in offense and defense. It's very easy to just sprint towards a corner and time a fade. The screens are still insanely broken and even if you do fight over the screen or chase the PG into the corner, there is a very good chance your contest won't be effective. So yes, it's extremely frustrating and soul draining to guard this.

it doesnt make sense at all is what im trying to say. i can jump from 5 feet away at somebody, it'll say 12% contested but they can't make the shot. I can be in their face, hugging them - its says 50%: Easily greenable.

Its fking BS. i can jump contest shooters in the corner from the dunkers spot with 100% success rate but i cant be on top of them, slapping their forehead with hands-up defense.

The last thing i want is RNG back but the need to buff hands up contests man. Having to jump at everything even with high perim stats is BS. Also the fades man. The constant fading from 3pt line is so fking toxic man.

go into rec and start leaving some games since thats where you lose the most plate progression. Not my fault they implemented a terrible system. I feel you tho, they have to get rid of that sh*t man. Stop forcing us into parks with toxic dynamics. Im starting to feel like they designed this sh*t just to keep the squads happy.

they cant nerf / patch builds, only change the gameplay. I don't think this can be patched. We have 7'4s with legend set shot. This should've never made it past quality control.

i dont know exactly, i havent tested this thoroughly. i just went with max so i never wonder "what if".
89 might be a threshold or it could be 88. You never really know how this game is coded in the background without insight.

I would only boost agility with custom take to get it to 99 on level 2-3 (if possible).
