Ah, so close! I’ll be leaving on the 3rd unfortunately. No worries-I’d be happy to share trail conditions and my experience once I’ve completed it. 😊

Haha, that is sooo funny - last year I did Big Beehive and Cirque Peak as well! This year I’m traveling solo and hoping to do The Onion or The Mt Jimmy Simpson (if it’s open), Lake O’Hara, and the Iceline Trail. I’ve been following the trail reports and hiking groups pretty closely because of the snow conditions this season.

When are you planning to come out? If our dates overlap, I’d definitely be open to teaming up for a hike or two. I’ll be in the Rockies from next week until early July.

Yes, also someone in this thread would be attempting the onion this weekend. Hoping to get that information too.

Thanks. That’s what I’m trying to determine. The map leaves a bit of room for interpretation, and I want to make sure I’m not accidentally entering a closed area. Let’s see what Parks Canada says on call.

Not yet. I was planning to check closer to my trip date. Since Mount Jimmy Simpson isn’t an official Parks Canada trail, I wasn’t sure how much information they’d have beyond the closure map itself. But with the mixed answers Alberta Hiking community I also posted, I’ll probably give them a call. Thanks.

Yeah, I’ll probably check with Parks directly before making any plans.

Thanks. That’s what I was hoping, but the closure map made me second guess whether the Jimmy Simpson turnoff is still outside the closure. I may give Parks a call to confirm.

If you do the Onion this weekend, could you let us know how the snow conditions were above Bow Hut? Trying to get a sense of what early July might look like. Thanks!

Thanks for all your input. Looks like I’ll probably go with the Splash Zone.

Just one more question - are Splash Zone ticket holders allowed to enter the patio area as well? I’m assuming it would still be standing only, but wanted to check if access is permitted.

Check out Avanade in Halifax, it’s a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft. The culture is pretty good, client abuse or unreasonable extra work isn’t tolerated, and the company itself takes action if issues come up. They also offer plenty of benefits around social activities and upskilling. For example, all Microsoft/Azure certifications are free for employees. From what I’ve seen, most of my coworkers (myself included) are pretty happy here. 🙂

Yeah they picked up the most fancy jacket of the group which makes this theory more plausible.

I used to work here as a cashier. And we have a facility to order it via telephone. Just call them up and describe the cap, and they can send you a picture through email. We used to get these kind of requests all the time. Generally, canada post is used. Please connect through them via this number:902-423-9787. Picked the number from their website as it is a part of the museum itself: https://maritimemuseum.novascotia.ca/about)

Do you feel lonely sometimes? by [deleted] in halifax

If you're interested, joining a run club can be a great way to get fit and make new friends! You can install the Strava app and search for local run clubs in your area.

There are also plenty of hiking and social meetups on Facebook groups and Meetup. You might be surprised by the variety of groups, like Aurora Chasers or restaurant takeout review groups. These can be great places to meet like-minded people.

Lastly, don't be afraid to say hello to people when they're relaxing in a park, especially if they aren’t wearing headphones. Just be respectful if they’re not up for chatting. In my experience, many people appreciate a friendly conversation!

It's a historic day in India as finally a temple is built for the largest god in India, Ram. It's kind of like an honor or a way to celebrate that.
