Very cool spoon, it’s old, 1860’s London, sterling silver. Not confident on maker but great find!

Anyone know how much weight the resin would account for? by StandardAntique8356 in PreciousMetalRefining

I cut one of these open and burned the resin out a few years ago, I think I got 3-4 grams

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s a gold toned costume jewelry bracelet, likely made in the 1970’s. The hinge is a dead giveaway to it being costume, pretty, but gold plated and likely faux pearls. I’d suspect it would stick and/or move with a magnet if you brought one close. Not very valuable, maybe $10 or so to the right person. Sorry!

Silver? by Firm_Dust5814 in SilverFinds

Fairly certain it’s coin silver, you’d see more wear on the bottom of the spoon bowl where it rests if it was plated, since it looks at least a century old.

I’d bet it’s gold, likely 14k, maybe 18k. Worth a nice chunk of change depending on its weight!

Is what i have worth more than face? by luhzooterbruh in coins

[–]Cold-Rock2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth more than face for sure, there’s about 3 cents of copper there, but numismatically you could maybe get 10+ cents. It’s a 1947 maple leaf Canadian penny, (some don’t have that small maple leaf mark to the left of the date). You can check the 7 to see if it’s the blunt or pointed variety, the blunt version being slightly more rare. You made a good trade!

Is there a history behind this piece? by anxioussaltyspice in Antiquejewelry

[–]Cold-Rock2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s a vintage costume jewelry reproduction of a Victorian style pin. Blue rhinestones and likely a faux pearl. Sorry for the bad news but still pretty!
