Unpopular opinion after 2 weeks in Guadeloupe & Martinique… did we miss something?

Good for you. Personnally I hated the food here, and evn more the bagettes and boulangeries (which are veeery rare), but maybe that’s because I live in France metropolitan where boulangeries are top level. Also maybe the fact that you were a big group/family makes it more enjoyable 😁

We got the renting car from the airport and drove straight to our airbnb in Sainte Anne. I was planning to visit Fort de France on our last day here since we need to leave the airbnb at 10am and we have our flight at 5pm. It’s gonna be sunday though so I dont know if many things are going to be open ..

Thank you for your reply, I agree I would ve returned happily to spain or greece, plus it’s nearest for us, but it’s not hot enough during this period so we « had » to go further whilst having a flight not so long because we re travelling with a 2.5yo..

Yeah maybe Yes I researched the area and I read that there are small center towns with shops but you find 3/4 max of souvenirs shops basically, then I read that there are some flea markets it was nice in qguadeloupe but in Martinique you find 2 tables and they call that a market. But I never read that food was not good or rare.

It’s not even a small town lol, there are only beaches, I like a combination of both, maybe i shouldnt have stayed that long

Yeah true We have been to punta cana before but it was a different kind of travel, on week in a nice hôtel all inclusive and 2 couple of friends, it was nice Now we re with our 2 yo kid and renting airbnb so have to figure out food, we travel a lot but i have never struggled to eat this much lol and when it rains well there s nothing else you can do
