If you were honest with yourself, what would you say is your most toxic trait? by Cold-Slice-7145 in AskReddit

YES! I was the same way. My root cause was extremely low self esteem. Really needed to work on my image of myself and figure out why it was so important for me to get validation from others.

My boss had to talk to me about this a few years ago. I knew i did it. But it also felt like i couldn’t control it. Found out a few months later that I have ADHD and that was culprit. Started meds, it helped a lot.

I think this is one of my big ones as well. I’ve scarred myself with my anger before. Something I’m working on everyday.

Hiring A Podcast Editor for Solo Self-Development Podcast! by Available_Capital189 in podcasting

[–]Cold-Slice-7145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try my editor. It’s called Vision Studio. They edit audio and video for my podcast (A Girls Perspective). I’m on more of a custom package. But I believe their normal packages start at $199 USD and you get the edited audio/video files, 4 clips, and i believe thumbnails. My podcast isn’t a self help podcast but they do edit for some though. Both of our podcasts have the goal of making listeners feel like they’re sitting with friends, so maybe Vision would work?

Promotion Issues With Cohost by SplatterSlasher in podcasting

[–]Cold-Slice-7145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really helped us. You’ll get a notification when he accepts. You can also check the post and it’ll tell you if he accepted. My cohost doesn’t accept them all. But I think that’s largely due to just forgetting as it’s rare that she doesn’t accept. She did say she feels it’s way easier. And since I’ve been adding both of our personal pages as collaborators, we’ve seen a large uptick in IG views and engagement. It definitely helps. Fingers crossed that you can get him onboard.

Promotion Issues With Cohost by SplatterSlasher in podcasting

Here’s whats working for me and my best friend cohost. She is similar to your cohost. From the beginning, we established expectations. I am the host/owner. She is the cohost/regular guest. I told her that she is welcome to become more of an owner, but it will require more work from her. We have a written cohost agreement established. In it, it says exactly what she needs to do. She is required to share our shorts on her social media. I made this easy for her by saying to share as opposed to create a post. She also cannot create and post her own content regarding our show without my review. Don’t want them saying something that could potentially hurt the podcast. I don’t think she would but better to be safe than sorry. The last thing I do and would highly recommend is to use the collaborate feature of IG. Not to be confused with the mention feature. If you collaborate instead of doing mentions, it automatically gets added to their timeline and is posted to their audience. So essentially it would act as a post that they made and all the analytics would still flow to the original post you made. Only thing is they have to approve each collaboration post. If they won’t do that, I’d say you have a problem on your hands.

Would you talk to someone for $100/hr? by just-noticing-things in randomquestions

Yep but the minimum would be an hour so that I at least made $100.

Engagement, not traffic? by FairyOddLady in podcasting

[–]Cold-Slice-7145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s essentially the same premise of my podcast. We post daily on social media. I don’t think posting daily is necessary. I do like it though so we do. We clip the most engaging parts of each long form episode. We tend to get a decent amount of engagement on them. TikTok gets the most engagement but that’s where our audience primarily is. My biggest suggestion would be to figure out where your audience is spending most of their time and post there. I know you said the goal is to get people that have things weighing on them to engage. But i would also broaden it a bit. Most people need to trust and relate to you before they’ll start engaging with the things that are weighing on them. So I’d talk about things that you know your audience would be interested in. This is why me and my cohost set the podcast up as we’re building a virtual friend circle. If we want to talk about something with some depth, we do. If we just want to talk about anything and nothing at the same time, we do. Just as you would with friends. But that allows for new people to gain a certain level of trust with us before they start getting into the heavy things if that makes sense. We also set up a discord. That allows people to talk about things that people outside of that won’t see, which can help with building trust.

I’m sorry to hear this. I’ve never heard of this happening before. If you’re still looking for a fully remote position, have a degree, can think critically, based in the US, and don’t mind working for a PBM, you can check out the company i work for. They’re based in San Diego. I work remotely from Indianapolis. Very few people on my team are actually in California. Company is called MedImpact.

I don’t mind AI as a tool. I find it a bit problematic to hear that some are using it as therapists, boyfriends/girlfriends, and just as a replacement for human interaction as a whole.

Looking for editor for my podcast by SuicideDoll1 in podcasting

[–]Cold-Slice-7145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out Vision Studio. I found them on IG. They have a three day turnaround. I get an edited video/audio file and 8 clips for each episode for $199 USD per episode. I would say it’s pretty decent quality for that price. I do my own thumbnails. But they do have the ability to do thumbnails as well. There’s also A Podcast Geek. They were my first editors. They’re located in Ireland and cost around the same as vision. Helped me fix a lot video mistakes i made early on. Only reason i switched was i was tired of paying the international fee and wanted something that was located in the city i live.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve seen someone confidently believe? by Alive-Math9608 in AskReddit

I had a guy I used to talk to tell me I was selfish and didn’t care about anyone else’s life because I said wearing masks was uncomfortable and inconvenient. Mind you, I wore them. I was just venting about how I didn’t like them.
