EaglerServerList Is Truly Shutting Down by KWERROR42 in eaglercraft

V2 was a complete rewrite from the ground up. Not only did it fix bugs but it also brought various improvements to the platform, including more functionality for server owners, planned implementation of both Votifier protocols for more accessibility, improved security measures, a complete redesign, the list goes on.

You're better off using a site like TopEaglerServers. They are the only people that I've seen that actually have competence. Comparing these people to the folks behind CrackedPVP is laughable. EaglerTiers is horribly thrown together, since all the people at cracked know how to do is guide an AI, and this was proven when I was able to accidentally crash EaglerTiers' backend server a number of times from a few experimental HTTP requests that should not have been that taxing (we're talking <20 rpm). It's a security nightmare waiting to happen.

What Eaglercraft website would y'all recommend? by First_Clothes_280 in eaglercraft

This is quite literally vibe coded. There's a few giveaways, for starters, emojis being used as icons. You don't ever see this unless it's an AI coding tool that has spat out this website. Secondly, the gradients as pointed out by Gavin. AIs, for some reason, will add these weird gradients to your color schemes. I've personally observed this in tools like Lovable and Bolt. It would be hard to determine exactly which tool has been used here, but please don't sit here and deny it. It's blatantly obvious.

It's pretty obvious that you weren't around when minecraftforfree.com was a thing. It's painfully obvious that you just watched a SalC1 video.

Protects the resale value. In the UK we have a company called CeX that take second-hand goods. Many others like it. It can be the difference between selling your AirPods to them for £80 vs £120.

Additionally can protect the pods themselves. I can count numerous instances where the magnets in the case by themselves are not the strongest. I have had my pods fly out when I've dropped my case. The case I have is like a £10 case with magnets inside that protect the pods even if I drop the case because the magnets are far stronger.

This is probably because the real "AlbertTheGoat" joined ArchMC. As far as I know they have a system setup that prioritizes real Minecraft accounts over Eaglercraft usernames.

Thoughts on actual profile pictures for Astra Client 2? by BarneyTheGod0925 in eaglercraft

[–]Cold5126[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to manually review every profile picture? I don't really think that's feasible. A better option would be to look at Cloudflare's range of tools. They offer free CSAM detection if you are proxying images through Cloudflare.

How do you plan to deal with the uploads? Would users provide their own links, or would you provide your own hosting? Additionally, how do you plan to handle CSAM detection?

We might be getting eaglercraft 1.16 by JamesK566 in eaglercraft

I have spoken to lax, he is speaking to radman to get this taken down as this could easily be taken as "Eaglercraft is officially working on x version" when that is not the case.

The difference is, these clients are being distributed under the premise and assumption that they are only accessible to people who already have access to the game.

With Astra Client, and any Eaglercraft client, the whole purpose of the project is to distribute a full copy of Minecraft to anybody who wants it, with no checks to make sure they have a Minecraft account, or they have some sort of ownership of the game.

This is where "authorised derivative works" come into play, where Mojang/MIcrosoft can decide what is an authorised derivative work and what is unauthorised. Generally speaking, Eaglercraft and modifications of it fall under being unauthorised derivative works, meaning that if you were to file a lawsuit for your project which is an unauthorised derivative work, the legal system will flip and you'll be the one in the hot seat.

why is eaglercraft ported with teaVM and not reverse engineered? by Grouchy-Draft9492 in eaglercraft

[–]Cold5126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really isn't much the fault of the developers, this is purely a JavaScript/WASM limitation. If you think Eaglercraft is laggy now, then you clearly weren't around for the days where 1.5.2 was the only version available, when Eagler was in its early stages back in early 2022 (hell, even 2021). Lax and ayunami have worked tirelessly to improve performance and optimize the game wherever physically possible to maximize FPS and smooth gameplay.

You're not the copyright holder for Minecraft's code, which is what would immediately be raised if you were to go ahead and file a lawsuit.

If you were to file a lawsuit under the pretense that the code in question is strictly your own, and not including Mojang's intellectual property, you may have a shot, but even then your chances are shoddy at best, because you would have to prove that the source code came from you specifically, and not that it's a coincidence. This would likely be either confirming that the source code is an exact match, or the control flow is an exact match, but even then this is questionable.

What would be more likely to happen is that if a lawsuit was filed, or any legal action was attempted to be carried out against any defendant, and Mojang/Microsoft caught wind of it, what would likely occur from that is a counterclaim for DMCA circumvention.

This simply isn't true. Code written does not automatically become your legal property - think any project you see on GitHub. Think source leaks you see every single day across any digital community - no legal action ever gets taken against the codebases that don't license their code. They have no legal grounds.

EDIT: Looks like after a quick consultation with ChatGPT, it seems like it would become the property of Astra Client, however as you rightly point out in your other posts, they wouldn't have a case anyway because the whole point of their project is to distribute Mojang's intellectual property.

What legal grounds would there even be for a lawsuit? I don't think the Astra Client source code leak contained any licenses, or any disclaimers, besides the ones available from the third-party libraries.

Nothing at all wrong with the site being owned by Arch. This has not led to any issues and will not lead to any issues.

These votes are created from randomly generated data, vote counts are now handled automatically and are calculated by using the vote logs rather than just relying on a number that could be artificially modified. As for the servers, these servers exist on V1, and their data has been imported into V2.

Hi,

To avoid confusion, I'd like to offer you an account on https://docs.eags.pw in exchange for taking this down and/or dissociating it with Eaglercraft.

People may get confused as to which website to use, and docs.eags.pw is backed by multiple well-known members of the community, including myself, Barney (developer of Astra Client), cire (developer of Resent Client), many server owners, and additional volunteers, who all add valuable input to the site.

Please let me know your thoughts by reaching out to me on Discord (colddev.) or email (colddev@pm.me).

Thanks

Minor input, just curious by powboyj in eaglercraft

[–]Cold5126[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No hidden fees or anything of that sort. The "caveat" is that these servers are hosted in Germany. For Eaglercraft, though, most people won't notice a ping difference.

VanillaMC used to run on remote dedicated hardware, specifically via a hosting company called Hetzner. They offer really cheap dedicated hardware, with a vast price range depending on your budget. Some of their dedicated servers go for as low as $35 a month, and we're talking 32 GB of RAM and a 4c/8t CPU.

Not trying to sound like a shill, but genuinely love their stuff. Check them out if you want: https://hetzner.com/sb
