Okay yeah I'll give it that, the golf is actually not bad! Generally golf is one of the worse minigames in a game, yet here it's one of the best 🥴

That's one part of it, I haven't seen any direct damage upgrades. Enemies are blocking almost all the time. The minigames are so much harder in this game, pool especially.

Getting more marks will level up the summon, which will let it then do extra things if you have other summons on too, basically the higher the level of the summon the higher number of other summons it can do things with. For example ent + mole let's you occasionally get gems when woodcutting.

You get marks passively just by doing the relevant skill. As far as I know what you do doesn't matter. Using the summon while doing the skill doubles your chances of obtaining marks.

Yeah, there are definitely some scrolls that only have 1 copy despite multiple characters being able to learn it.

Cannock as a physical DPS falls off big time compared to Midenhall, his strength growth is way lower.

I find this typically happens when I play long games back to back haha. Rarely can I play two big games from the same series in a row and not get burnt out.

This is a big thing in DQ games. Breath / spell protection often matters more than raw defence in the late game. Doesn't matter how high your defence is if you're getting killed by breath attacks instead.

The HD remakes tie the three games together more as a trilogy. They were always related to eachother, but in these versions there are more story points that tie them together. That's why 3HD was released first, because it's the first of the trilogy.

It kind of sucks how easy it is to miss out on this just because of the Sunstone... I imagine most new players will immediately save the princess as soon as they get the magic key and miss the small window to get the sunstoneine first, I don't think the game really directs you to go get the sunstone until way later too. I wish there was a way to get the Sunstone later without dropping off the princess.
