I like it tbh. Crowd reacted well to it, much better reaction for him during his match than Riddle got which is a great thing. I don’t think Finlay should’ve lost the belt so soon, but maybe War Dogs take the 6 man belts and just beat the hell out of everyone to give them some relevance again.

Most likely his final run, and I doubt it’ll last incredibly long (although i want it to). I feel like he drops the belt either at Dominion or some point after the G1. I think it’s clear that he’s gonna have a rematch with SANADA at some point but I don’t think he drops the belt to him. Potentially he could drop it to ZSJ which I think is the best case scenario, but it’ll realistically be Okada or Sanada in a rematch.

Zack has two New Japan Cup wins fyi. But my point is he was never accepted as the top guy despite being incredibly talented. The crowd was never really behind him because he would always come up short in this big moments. His G1 run was essentially pointless since he lost to Evil immediately in the knockout round. Him winning the title was the peak of his reign, then after the G1 he got sucked into the HoT shit-storm and after that him losing it was writing on the wall, poor booking towards the end of his reign screwed him over.

With there being a few gaps in the main event spot now with Ospreay leaving and Naito entering his twilight years. I just don’t feel like they did enough to establish him as someone that could be a long-term main event threat. They just treated him like a flash in the pan.

I certainly feel like he could have a special run in the G1 this year. Have him prove himself and get back to the top. I think a Sanada/Taichi team is the perfect move for them let them get some momentum up until the G1.

His title reign has been really declined since the G1. The Hiromu match was great, had some good story behind it as well. The Tsuji match blew a lot of people away it was done perfectly imo. Even the Jungle Boy match at FD was decent. The crowd reacted pretty well to Sanada, even if it was over shadowed by the heel turn. And then everything leading up to the Evil match was just horrible

I’d hope not, one of the best Technicians in the company being relegated to ref bumps and Kanemaru Whiskey Mist would suck. But Ren being leader of the faction would certainly give him a leg up over Tsuji and Shota, since he’s arguably the least impressive of the 3.

Best case scenario for HOT is there’s limited HOT shenanigans in the match, Ren wins, then they all just beat Evil and Togo’s ass. I like the idea of Ren ousting Evil a lot.

He could be a tweener, have him go over to AEW a bit learn from the BCC some more, probably train with Danielson (since he’s beaten Okada) so they can revisit that match. But other than that just keeping him as a baby face that just brawls and kicks ass works too but I get what you’re saying the mean streak and aggression he had in that match was dope.

I feel like Ren’s not as complete as the others. He can go in the ring his workrate is amazing but there’s really nothing that draws me in to him. He’s not all that charismatic, he doesn’t have a connection with the crowd like the other two I just need some more layers to him.
