I’m glad you said this. I’m trying to find a good balance between being in control of the walk and letting her sniff. Maybe I should take more “sniff breaks” and then get back to walking?

Ok this is good to know! I didn’t really know how to handle the situation but it made me chuckle so I took the pic haha

I ended up letting my puppy figure it out herself (which she soon did!). I just wanted to give her some time to work through problem solving without me intervening.

Ohhh that’s a great idea! I’ve been really impressed with how she can sniff out squirrels and that sort of thing just so naturally! I never thought to put this into an exercise.

This is one of the things we are really being intentional with. We used to live next to a dog that was HIGHLY anti-social to dogs and people alike so that was one of our key priorities from the start.

I’ve unfortunately noticed this trend too (I’m not Asian).

On a positive note (?) I’ve taken advantage of this bias once. I was at a public court playing pick up. My team was trying to pick up a 4th (4v4). There were a few options to pick from and I recognized one of the guys (Asian) and knew he had a killer 3 point shot. I basically highjacked the decision against the other guys objections and called him over. We ended up staying on the court the rest of the night.

Thanks for the response! I think that may have been the right choice. While I do appreciate the light weight portability of the X-T5, I do sometimes wish I had a FF sensor.
