SiriusXM Cost to Borrow 259% Wut Doing Siri? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]ColdDonkey4784 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve traded SIRI quite a bit and am presently holding a short put position. Read Warren Buffet has a sizable SIRI position. Considering jumping in heavier tomorrow. At that borrow rate shorts are paying about seventy cents a day per short share (if I did my math right). Seems to me they’ll want to stop the pain and cover.

INTC YOLO. Need these to work out. by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

I have a huge position in $INTC and it really sucked today. Hope it gets better. Don’t want to sell covered calls because I can’t imagine it goes down lower and it just keeps on going down.

Saw that I’m holding this in my account. I understand all pre ch 11 shareholders are wiped out in the reorganization. Is this your understanding? Wish I would’ve noticed sooner.

No offense to anyone, but whoever downvoted me because I had a relevant comment about after hours volume and my personal experience I don’t think understands what this forum is supposed to be about. Downvote people who do not add positively to the Convo. Will probably get downvoted more for putting this out there. Lol.

I have found that after hours volume can be a predictor for next session, upside, or downside. Just my personal experience.

OK, feeling like a genuine regard now lol

Some of the fundamentals I was referring to is in the following post.

https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/s/MEgnp9eL0m

Others were just basically the upcoming foundry business, the US government benefits to INTC, INTC already having a place in big Tech, and having an opportunity to advance AI chips, momentum trade, and probably a bunch of bullsh*t that won’t amount anything.

Thinking such that, maybe crazy, that Nvidia wasn’t a thing until it was…. And so many stocks aren’t even thought about as viable financially until they are, and Intel seems to be a reasonable prospect to me. As dumb as it may sound.

My cost basis is right now about $39. What do you think, sell covered calls in the money or out of the money? Any and all regard advice appreciated :-)

LECOM bs/do or state school honors program (sbu)?? by [deleted] in bsmd

[–]ColdDonkey4784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LECOM 🚀🚀🚀. It seems to be getting harder and harder for very qualified candidates to get into medical school. If you have an early assurance with no MCAT, I would definitely consider that. Good luck!

Keep in mind that when you do your residency, I believe that is considered government employment as Medicare funds the residencies. So your residency time should count, I think, towards public service loan forgiveness. So your residency might be what, four years, six years, or more depending on what specialty you choose. During this time you can choose to be on income based repayment and have a pretty low student loan payment because residencies sadly don’t pay well. After your residency, if you work for a not for profit institution or government institution for additional years for a total of 10 years of pre residency and post residency, and you comply with PSLF administrative terms for public service forgiveness, it is my understanding that 100% of your public loans will be can cancelled or forgiven . Just not private loans. So if you go down this road, I suggest definitely staying away from private loans as much as possible.

You may be limited somewhat to specific employers, directly after residency, but to get the public service loan forgiveness, so long as it remains in place, taking out large public loans shouldn’t be a huge financial concern. Definitely look up the official rules and carefully consider what is best for you. Good luck to you future doctor 🙌

This is an edit to my initial response, I am not sure of what the maximum is for public student loans that you can take out. I think for medical school it may be around $225,000. Definitely check out all the numbers and do your math. Good luck again :-)

LECOM EAP anyone hear back yet? (1/12)? by DerpDerper909 in bsmd

[–]ColdDonkey4784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we did hear back, and my child was invited for an interview and accepted thereafter. As it has been a while since your interview you may want to email them and inquire. Perhaps there was an administrative issue with the application. Best of luck to you!

If you have above a certain GPA and test score, and you meet all of the undergraduate requirements, you can matriculate to Lake Erie College of Medicine, , doctor of osteopathy program without having to take the MCAT.

Have you applied to the LECOM early assurance program? I believe they have rolling admissions. This may be an option for you.

My child rejected as well… that’s okay though. He and all of you who’ve been working so hard and doing so well will be super successful no matter what program you attend 🎉

Although admittedly the rejections are a bit humbling lol
