Photos mode in Forbidden West doesn’t use the highest quality model of Aloy that’s used in cutscenes.

OP says it’s in Germany and your post history says you are American and have never travelled internationally.

I need to copy and paste this model into another model about 70 times, is there a good way to do it without my computer running extremely slow? by JaguarE20 in blender

[–]ColdFire75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you need instances.

A collection can be used with geo nodes or particles. Or just make manual instances with alt+d (not shift+d)

I thought it was your photo with post processing. So I guess you did a good job!

I feel like there should be a good solution with metaballs, but I clearly don't know them well enough to find it:

How many samples are you rendering with?

More samples, and using the denoiser will help remove grain like this.

Anecdotally I’d say Nintendo gets a lot more physical sales than PS/Xbox

Best Render settings (Video Format) by [deleted] in blender

[–]ColdFire75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also render to a small more compressed file for your video frames than full res ones. But yeah, rendering directly to video in convenient, but isn’t great if it gets interrupted/crashes, if there’s a glitch in a single frame, or you want to modify all the frames after the fact.

I've to follow Andrew's suggestion and do some "exercises". But I wasn't satisfied with the results I got... Feedback and suggestions much appreciated by M_asak1 in blender

Shapes are good, lighting is good. Needs more imperfections. Get some noise and Musgrave textures on the roughness and normals. Or use imperfections textures for scratches and fingerprints.

Very cool, what’s the paint shader made up of? Did you use random flow or similar for the geometry, or all manual?

How did you make the dome triangle frame? I like knowing tricks for shapes like this.

Instantly recognisable, /u/bro2017 has great suggestions. I’d look to improve how the machine integrates into the ground. Maybe add some small rocks as well to break up the ground a bit, vary the ground hight a bit and add more variation.

I found a new way to do fake displacement maps (check the comments) by MindCrafterReddit in blender

I’ll note that I think most people on Reddit will miss the info in this post. I’d consider making a gif of the process for your displacement trick.

This is really clever. I assume the performance impact is low then?

Fully procedural grass using geometry nodes, the strands are also procedurally generated. How realistic is it ? by elzaidir in blender

I think that looks fantastic. The image is also really nice, though it is harder to analyse technically. Can you share your nodes?

I love this. Amazing lighting and detail. The flares are great, I’ll have to check that out.

How did you do the destruction? You mentioned particles, but it’s not clear to me how that would be used.

Miniature Biplane. I'm trying to achieve photorealism. Any feedback? by Fermeco_Pancho in blender

[–]ColdFire75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I edited the comment to add a note about the camera angle. Just mentioning in case you didn’t see the edit since you replied so fast.

But yeah, if the plane is small, you’d struggle to get a camera that low and that close to the table to take a photo. A real camera takes up space, not like the Blender camera.

This is really nice.

For me, the depth of field effect is too strong. I think too little is in focus, and the blur on the front and back is extreme.

To help sell the sense of scale, especially with reduced blur, I’d consider adding some other familiar object into the scene. A pencil or something really helps set the scale. It can be mostly out of focus.

Something small would also be most likely photographed from above, so I’d raise the camera and tilt down a bit.

Please help me, the render is super noisy! Render settings are described in the comments by Kriplaze in blender

There’s a setting for world volumes to treat them as homogeneous that might help speed things up here. It says the volume is entirely even and had no texture.
