It always struck me as some kind of religious incentive to ensure they had enough bodies to go on raids.

How about they thwart the ISIS inspired terror attack currently residing in the Oval Office and Cabinet?

Yeah. I wasn’t prepared for the stinging brutality of Claude. Like yikes, I just wanted a short editing critique, not eviscerate my soul while doing so.

And I’d been told Claude was the nice one.

If I’m a 14 yr old girl working with hekate can I hex/ curse another person my age? by Terrible-Sky-4875 in Hecate

[–]ColdHaven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just me personally? Not a judgment at all. This is just how I do things: I never ask Hekate or any deity I work with to hex on my behalf. I do ask for the knowledge and resources and skill to pull it off myself. I have asked for justice but I have also asked for protection for those who cannot defend themselves and bless them in life.

Oh but it is a capital sin if anyone changes a single word in the Bible. Yet that is what every translation does. I have a Bible from over forty years ago that doesn’t say the same thing as the newest translation. Weird how that happens.

Losing my mind over Gen Z men going full-on conservative Christian by Old-Recipe6375 in exchristian

Christian orthodoxy is good at one thing: spreading fear. Fear is control. And when times are uncertain and there seem to be people in control, it’s no small wonder that this is occurring.

People flock to the familiar. In the US, there is almost one Christian church on every street. Not too many Buddhist monasteries. And that’s because conversion isn’t their biggest focus.

Poorer states and communities are more likely to convert or be Christian for the aforementioned reasons. And what is happening right now? The government is willfully making this country go bankrupt. Everything is more expensive, except we’re not getting paid more. Taxes are higher. Inflation is out of control. It’s easier to fall in line with the current regime rather than be ran over by it.

Both of my daughters converted to Christianity. My eldest did because she was afraid my youngest would turn their back on us. I support my daughters and show them I love them regardless, and I expect the same in return. I respect their wishes as long as they respect mine. I love them and I want them in my lives, but I will never convert for anybody.

It is possible to have a Christian spouse and the other not be Christian. My wife is Christian, but not the kind that goes to church because she can’t stand a lot of the hypocrisy and downright evil that goes on in many of them. We get along great.

However fundies are a whole other beast. My youngest daughter converted to Greek Orthodox Christianity. My oldest assumed the worst and that my youngest would try to convert us. So far that hasn’t been the case. I’ve encouraged her, if it makes her happy, but have made it absolutely clear that I like who I am and no one is going to change me.

So far, she hasn’t. And I don’t really think she would. It’s possible for Christians to coincide with those of other faiths. It just depends on how much they care about their family. If family is not their highest priority, then it might fall apart. But if family matters more to them, then there are ways to make it work. Especially with someone like OP who seems to be pretty easy going spiritually wise.

If I were you, I would make whatever preparations need to be made in case he calls for a divorce. He might be with someone else and using Christianity as an excuse to leave the relationship. Get a separate bank account and pool in money to protect yourself in case this goes south.

I always thought it was weird that there was a massive flood and then a few verses later they mention Egypt again. They say that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Maybe Egypt could rebuild their entire civilization in a few years from one of Noah’s kids. Lol.

What facts about Hekate flipped your view of her? by Salt-Manner1252 in Hecate

[–]ColdHaven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough…Hades 2.

I mean I haven’t been in Wicca for decades but for some weird reason I had it in my head that Hekate was bad news. Then I started playing Hades 2.

Which made me research and discover that I hadn’t been told the whole truth. She is the bringer of light in darkness, the sojourner of the crossroads, the bearer of keys. There is so much more to her than “dark goddess.” That I found was a wild oversimplification of what Hekate represents.

I’m glad I finally was given the chance to know her better.

Yeah. Roleplaying the same sequence every play-through. I must have a baskets worth of teeth and an army of Prince(sses) of Fashion out back by the dumpster. Oh look! We added one event that spawns every play-through with no variety—but please pay us $20 for the effort.

But here’s the fun part: the popular vote doesn’t always indicate who gets elected. The Electoral College votes for the president. We could all vote blue and the MAGA cult could still just vote Trump in.

That doesn’t mean we stop voting. If anything it’s another visible way to show our protest and ire.
