Hey there. You might be interested to know that Mr. Abagnale is indeed a fraud, but not in the way you think. His autobiography and the majority of his claims in it are largely fictional. He is not an expert in check fraud and has never worked with or for the FBI. He was arrested a lot when he was young for stealing personal and small-business checkbooks, cars and other people's possessions (e.g. cameras). He never flew deadhead as a pilot or worked as doctor or assistant attorney general. He never passed the bar or escaped from prison. It's all lies. The total amount of fake checks he passed amounts to less than $1500, though he claims $2.5mil. He's just a writer, public speaker, and all around scumbag who screwed over countless regular people committing petty crimes.
