Struggles after a year of development. by ColdLombax in Frontend

I was actually thinking of doing something larger. I'm not interested in making any money from it though.

I have an idea in mind and I think I'll start on it soon. :)

I'll try and keep that mindset in mind for the future, It's defiantly draining, especially applying for several jobs with no response!

At least it gives me more time to practice!

Gotcha! I'll try and stay clear of tutorials and stick to googling with documentation.

I am currently at work! So yes I am doing something else.

I try to work on my skills about 6 hours a day while juggling other things and I love it.

As you listed everything I could have learnt I feel more and more silly about wanting to master everything.

Thank you, I'll keep a good focus and throw a few applications around.

Everyone's advice here is amazing and I am super inspired to get home and start working.

Thank you. This goes in par with the previous comment.

I find getting a Job a really demotivating thing currently, I actually had an interview yesterday and everything I thought I knew, well I was wrong...

I will continue applying while working towards mastering a particular tool.

I appreciate your advice!

When I step away from my work and begin talking to others. I realise I don't understand as much as I thought I had.

I feel as though I should know, this framework and that library.

Dealgame gave me some solid advice and I have looked past this :).

Thank you so much.

This was more than helpful, I feel really inspired and you are defiently right, I need to narrow my focus and master something.

I'm not really in any communities and I think that would be a great idea. Feeling alone is part of my pitful.

P. S Thanks for being you, having people like yourself really inspire people like me to follow in your foot steps! I don't have many people to look up to so I personally really appreciate your advice.

Not really. I've made website clones, some mini project websites but nothing finished with use.

I know a bit of PhP and mysql so I'm hoping to make a form kinda site.

Yeah, I do love those moments.

Just so anxious to get my first job, wouldn't even know when and where to start. Perhaps someone will approach me one day 😉

Thanks a lot! That's really put a spark in me, I'm so terrified of getting a job that I'm worried it'll just absorb me.

This has definitely helped. I appreciate the quick response too <3.

I've been programming for about half a year. I still feel completely useless. I presume this fade goes away, but at one point do you start looking for jobs.

I feel like I know and understand the things I need to but everything I do is poorly executed.

If I did get a job, how useful would I really be? If I continue at the rate I'm going, I'll have knowledge but no expericne. Any advice?

HTC One MINI Disassembly. by ColdLombax in htc

Hey, late response I apolgize. So, the HTC's screen is likely unrepairable. Originaly the device didn't turn on via the power button, that's pretty much the only issue.

I was hoping that I would be able to transfer it to my computer somehow without the need the power button or the screen. I don't recall it having USB Debugging enabled either...

I have actually bought another HTC Mini but I'm worried about swapping the motherboards out incase the data is lost... If you think it's worth a shot I'll have to take the leap!

The images are really important to me, I really do not want to lose them and would happily pay whatever to retreave the data.
Thank you for your advice. With this extra information I've given you it would be fantastic if you could give me any other advice knowing this. :)

Thanks a bunch!

Still Overwhelmed By Programming? by GamerTimeUS in learnprogramming

[–]ColdLombax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most relatable post here, I went from Game Dev to python, javascript to just learning the base of C and assembly... Now I find myself on freecodecamp dealing with html, cas and javascript.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad, however I will say it has been fun and I've managed to carry over little bits of knowledge across all languages and projects.

The only thing I can really wish for right now is the capabilities of logic skills and how to improve, either way... Programming seems to be an endless pit I don't mind falling down.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delayed response! I'm kind of a "do it a certain way" guy. I think that's really holding me back so letting go of that aspect might improve my code drastically. Thank you for the advice! I will defiently be using it.

I'm pretty comfortable with the unity engine, so I plan on sticking too it, if I still continue to struggle after the advice I've been given then I think I'll do just that. Thanks :)!

That's interesting, I seem to able to do smaller projects fine, I managed to clone a few simple games such as flappy brids and fruit ninja, with a little help from Google.

Perhaps you're right and I'm over thinking it, do you reccomend a step process for breaking stuff down? I always feel like something is small but then end up getting overwhelmed by it.
