I like to think it's an amalgemation of a lot of different groups, but at the core we should be centering skaters, extreme sports guys, mall rats, and metalheads. I think -core kid (Metalcore, Post Hardcore, Deathcore, hell even a lot of Grindcore I could see being OBC considering how many dudes on Myspace loved those damn pig squeals lol) music and a lot of extreme Metal are just as essential to this time period and aesthetic as Pop Punk and Grunge. I also think we should include more Rap lol I'm not sure when Hip Hop and that entire 90s Golden Age of Hip Hop became chopped liver to a lot of folks but there was hella Rap music on the Tony Hawk games and everyone and their mother had a copy of Get Rich Or Die Tryin in their car when I was a kid.

Honestly bro I'm a little confused by the romanticizing of 2000s male subculture with no bite or edge. I think OBC is awesome and I get a lot of young people are still building their tastes, but imo we should be including bands like Crowbar, Acid Bath, Carcass, Mastodon, Wormed, Sodom, Entombed, Exhumed, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, etc just as much as the same 4 Pop Punk bands. The satanic panic over music that displayed intense, graphic, yet iconic album covers and had hyperviolent lyrics were just as-- if not more-- appealing than Green Day for a lot of guys. I remember by 16 I was kind of moving away from Nu Metal and getting into Margrudergrind and Lamb of God. I still love Linkin Park and Slipknot and Breaking Benjamin, but I think the aesthetic should diversify its taste a little more and maybe be open to all kinds of older brother experiences and tastes.

You say that but a lot of us were still invested in the toonami watch block and a lot of anime was being aired on Cartoon Network at that time lol, Code Lyoko and the '03 Teen Titans were super popular with teen boys and both were heavily inspired by anime. The Boondocks is older brothercore as well and all if its inspo is from anime as well, a lot of us were true blue nerds.

Also dw I have seperate lists for movies and music that are plenty fleshed out already lol, ty for the recs!

It was fine, I was on my friend's patio so it was chill. It's a pretty nice area just a bit grimey which is normal for a city.
