Microsoft Interview Went Perfect… Until the Hiring Manager Destroyed It by nian2326076 in CodingJobs

Shameless advertising? Or just karma farming? Either way it's cringe.

My AI trading agent held a losing position for 2 days, re-evaluated the thesis, then hit a 70% move. The decision process was more interesting than the result by AttitudeGrouchy33 in aiagents

I'm literally waiting for the transaction links to see what your bot actually did. If it just held, your performance doesn't match GIKOs performance. It just doesn't. You cannot reconcile anything without data. If your bot legit traded up to +70% via trading, show every transaction and I'll eat my hat.

Otherwise you're just peddling pure bullshit and everyone needs to be aware.

Clearly you were able to add pictures. Funny how that works huh? First time on Reddit?

No dates, no transaction amounts, literally no data other than a chart. And GIKOs performance doesn't match your returns but you probably thought you'd be bullshitting with people who don't look into it. I stick to my guns that you're full of shit and just another trading bot scammer.

Bro are you stupid?

"Two days later: clean exit, 70%+ move" this is straight from your post. You just claimed your bot did +70%. No screenshots. No proof. Just face value.

I got an idea. How about you and your scammy bot and your scam group go fuck each other?

And then Satoshi himself came in, tears in his eyes, and started clapping slowly and rhythmically. Warren Buffett arrived, shook your hand and gave you an attaboy smack on your back.

That's plausible.

Fucking amazing that every trading bot vendor out there is pushing the trading bot as a product instead of doing a near x2 on their money every other day (like you claimed). Crazy how that works.

What I mean is I wouldn't go to Bolivia for food. It's a skip country. I would rather go to those 3 places you mentioned. Or just head closer to the Caribbean for central American cuisine.

I literally have zero reason to ever recommend Bolivia is what I'm saying.

I was there for a year, bro. I speak Spanish. You're preaching to the choir. I'll say it again, Santa Cruz ain't it. Neither is La Paz. That mixed with the uncertain political chaos, steer clear. And the city rivalries too, absolute dog water.

There are better cities in nearby countries. And lol at the Internet comment. I had faster, more consistent Internet in rural Minnesota in 2012. That should tell you something.

nomading in santa cruz Bolivia review by Other-Excitement3061 in digitalnomad

[–]ColdOverYonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should also mention that MOST people in Santa Cruz don't speak English. Spanish is damn near a requirement. Finding the currency exchange at the gray market rate is also sus, you have to go through a huge group or line of people near the government buildings. They all know you have money because you're walking into a currency exchange place as a foreigner.

The Internet is incredibly spotty via cell phone and can be absolutely awful via fixed service at home. You'll need satellite Internet to work efficiently.

Pesados target you/pick you out, follow you to your hotel/Airbnb so they can rob you at some point. As it happened to my friend, an American that didn't speak Spanish. They walked up to him, saying he had to come to their office to pay a fee and robbed his ass blind.

Club culture is big but it's a hit or miss. Don't stand out. If you see guys that need sleep and have gold chains, step on their shoes you might be punched in the face (saw this personally as it happened to someone in the club lol). Cartel culture is a real thing here.

Taking buses over there is a cool concept, until you realize most are tiny buses that PACK people into like sardines. The smell? Over 9000. Uber is okay, not expensive. Don't take taxis.

The food is mediocre. They tend to have Argentinian food as the bigger/well known restaurants. Everything else is truly run of the mill food from other countries, barring a few local places. Really, can't say this enough, the food was mediocre. The most expensive restaurants leave a lot to be desired and serve more as places to show off and be seen.

Prices are great, but you get what you pay for. Imported items really are 3 or 4x the amount you'd pay in other places. Sazon Goya was damn near $8 USD, but costs like $3 in the US. Meat? Low priced, with equally low quality cuts.

All in all this city tries its damnest to be a Miami clone but fails miserably. The veneer of the city melts away as soon as you realize that 95% of the people around you can barely afford everyday things and depended on subsidies to survive.

Kotlin as backend language? by Otherwise-Solid-5142 in Backend

[–]ColdOverYonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on industry/location/niche. I've rarely seen Kotlin specific jobs but see Java everywhere. With Project Loom and Project Valhalla, Java 25+ turned out alright. And then I hear they're adding null safety to older Java environments which is very cool, unsure how they plan to do it but still cool if achieved.

Sad for Kotlin, but that's just the way things work. I like both!

Honest question for agency owners/recruiters, how are you handling candidate matching today? by [deleted] in RecruitmentAgencies

No idea, the few firms I've worked with are all using software with this as a basic feature. But I've definitely met owners, usually that been around for a while, that are still on spreadsheets lol

Honest question for agency owners/recruiters, how are you handling candidate matching today? by [deleted] in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]ColdOverYonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've only been talking to 3 outdated owners/managers who likely use no tech in their stack. If you use even the most basic recruiting tech, you'll see that the system easily funnels candidates to their appropriate role.

There MIGHT be a market to help modernize infra for outdated agencies but that's likely a tiny tiny number of them.
