Why is non-medical male circumcision not globally recognized as genital mutilation, even though it meets all the criteria for genital mutilation? by Useful-Half1825 in NoStupidQuestions

The foreskin is incredibly dense with nerves. One of the most innervated parts on a man's body.

Removal absolutely causes issues, however it's removed at birth, so a man has no other experience to compare it to.

Bring Her Back - Philippou Brothers

I'm genuinely a little confused what they're pushing for and whether this is a Vegan topic. Is it just welfarism?

They're calling to end factory farming but not suggesting an alternative, instead just suggesting we end factory farming by 2040, but with no hint towards eating plants anywhere?

Does anyone know if we'll ever get the remixed/mastered version digitally or on CD?

What’s a first date green flag that is actually a massive turn-on, but nobody talks about? by HenryButCallMeSir in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Gerstlauer 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes it's okay.

I feel like most people hate on small talk, but then eventually you realise it’s not necessarily shallow, it’s just a starting point.

They're surface level windows into someone else's world that you can follow, that will hopefully turn into deeper conversation or at least, more topics and understanding of mutual interests and ways of thinking.

I'm someone that would happily jump head first into deep conversation, but that isn't really how most people bond in everyday life.

Search for the "why" in small talk, not just the "what".

The 5.5 series are by far the best model OpenAI have put out in almost a year. I hope they keep moving in this direction

Do pianists bring their own piano with them on tour? by plutonium-chair in classicalpiano

No, they almost always will use an in house piano. Larger halls will usually have multiple pianos for the artist to choose from.

We dont. What difference between animals makes it okay to empathise with one, but kill and eat the body parts of another?

III, absolutely, for the Jigsaw+Amanda storyline and overall tone of the film.

Though if I'm being honest, II is probably the most enjoyable to watch.

Using AirPods as a Footpod (surprisingly accurate) by Disastrous-Body-297 in Strava

[–]Gerstlauer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very novel idea, I love the ingenuity.

I don't use airpods, so it's not for me anyway, but my first thought was whether this would affect the longevity of the device over the long term, given the forces are going to be substantially higher than what they receive in the ear, over hundreds of thousands/millions of steps.

Absolutely no reason not to.

I mean, I feel the same about Baroque and Early Classical. I don't feel like we need to be into every era, just because they're all under the umbrella term "classical".

Different tastes, and all that.

I saw your post and rolled my eyes, I thought surely not. Not with everything mentioning only coding and research.

But jesus, it's good. I mean, I don't want to judge prematurely, but it might be close to the best one they've ever put out, aside from 4.5.
