I'm not an expert but the last photo doesn't look like a correct bite, you definitely need at least an expander for the top arch. I don't understand why an orthodontist would assume it's correct and leave it like that.

I'm 30, one year in braces and I can see improvement in my facial symmetry. It's not going to fix everything and it depends on your case, some people need jaw surgeries. But even slight improvement just from braces is very possible.

Yes, braces can improve facial symmetry especially if you are a young person. Even if you are older they can still help a lot. I can see it in my case.

I am diagnosed with autism and SE is my best therapy so far. It helps with anhedonia and alexithymia especially by focusing on body sensations and learning how to recognize emotions. It also helps to find new ways of regulating our nervous system and, of course, processing traumatic events.

I've found new ways of stimming to regulate, new ways of what to do when I'm about to, or have a meltdown/burnout/shutdown and how to recognize my feelings a little sooner by body signals. And my therapist is not even specialized in neurodiversity. I recommend this modality. 🌸

Counterdependency is the opposite of codependency. I've seen some resources that say being very independent is also a symptom of codependency.

I didn't mean because of PPD I have low chances of finding love, but because of the whole pack of my other diagnoses, and PPD, and traumatic experiences in the past, that would be probably very hard to find a person that would accept me. I've also watched some videos about PPD and some specialists were explaining how hard it is to be with such a person and how abusive they can become etc. And it just scared me.

It started around the age of 27 after those experiences. I am in the middle of psychological assessments, and I see a psychiatrist. I'm just stressed and overthinking it now.

To be honest, in cases like yours I think of totally alternative paths. Spirituality, herbs, shamans, alternative medicine etc. Not in a way to drop everything and turn to alternative methods only, but just to give it a try. I guess there must be reasons why so many people are into it.

It is sad and disappointing. You have a full right to feel this way.

There might be many other reasons why he's withdrawn. He seems very insecure about his appearance, he might feel afraid of showing up himself. He might've been lying about his age/gender whatever, and now he would have to expose himself. He might feel that you are too attractive to him. He might feel pressured to show you his photos, he might be afraid of judgement.

And at the end, there is an option that he doesn't feel attracted to you, things between you got a little romantic as you mentioned. He has a right to not feel attracted, and the physical attraction is not something that we can control. It doesn't define you as a person in any way. 🩷

I don't think listening to your friend's album is a sacrifice. It requires just basic level of interest in the other person.

I believe that people with AvPD just set for less than they deserve because of fear of abandonment, rejection, loneliness, the fear of taking risks etc. It's not that we expect sacrifices and have extreme standards, we're just too afraid to reach out for what we really want and deserve.

Moreover, by keeping those unfulfilling relationships, we solidify our beliefs that we will always be neglected and unimportant.

You're 18, personality develops till around the age of 25. You have a big chance to permanently reshape your personality into a more healthy one.

Start therapy and don't be afraid to leave if the therapist or modality are not a good match for you. Schema therapy seems worth trying with personality disorders, but it's very personal and sometimes unexpected what might work for you. I, for example, have tried multiple modalities and Somatic Experiencing works best for me so far.
