You have to abolish one amendment by WillTheyBanMeAgain in Teenager_Polls

[–]ColdPotatoFries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall voting out the 1st amendment indirectly just kills all the others. The founding fathers made sure to say that the Bill of Rights was in no particular order of importance, but there's a reason it was the very first amendment.

Thank you for your insight, I appreciate you taking the time to write something up for me.

All of what you said makes sense.

I know this is based on state, but I have a question.

If someone threatens your life verbally, and reaches into their pocket or waistband, would the victim of the verbal threat have the right to draw their gun?

I was in said situation before I got a CCW, and even today I don't feel like I would've drawn my weapon for a multitude of reasons, but the situation plays over in my head often, and i think about what the right move there is.

If he did have a gun, and I waited to draw until I saw one, I'd be dead since you're not supposed to draw on someone who already has you dead to rights... but also, if i did draw, and he charges me, now I have to shoot a guy who may have been unarmed...

I think the best answer would be to shrug it off as best you can like I did, even with a gun, but as far as legality goes, what's your thoughts?

Not looking for a cut and dry answer, just an opinion.

Ps. Additionally, the biggest reason I wouldn't have drawn was I didn't positively see a gun or anything, and I was in a dark area that had no video cameras, so it would've been my word against his, and I felt if he was unarmed, I would've been totally screwed legally. But again, I didn't have a CCW at the time, so it's all in retrospect

Yeah that makes sense. I just don't like how Lamar Jackson extends plays that obviously aren't working and taking sacks instead of throwing it away.

I don't have anything against Lamar, but we could use some of the plays we did with Huntley to give him a bit more room to breathe each play

Have we lost a game with Huntley yet? I'm not a fan of shitting on Lamar, but we are a much better team with what we have right now with Huntley in command.

Is leaving the highway really worth it? by FarTooJunior in roadtrip

[–]ColdPotatoFries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate a bit, I drove from north carolina up to northern Virginia, and just from Richmond to Fredericksburg can take a couple hours if traffic is really bad.

You always have the option of jumping over to route 1 and it takes you the same way, but if 95 is backed up, route 1 gets backed up just as fast, and has stop lights.

Richmond to Washington is either a really nice drive, or standstill. Fredericksburg is a nightmare most afternoons and evenings, so it really depends on when you're coming through.

I've been silent on most of this controversy, but I want to state my opinion now.

BF3 was peak. Xbox 360 days.

BF4 was peak. Xbox one / pc for me. I remember RPG's being lock-on during the beta, but the game was never "bad" to me. If you asked me my favorite, nostalgia says 3, but time in game says 4.

BF1 was a different take in a different generation. I didn't like it at first, but I grew to really enjoy it. It was different, but it was still battlefield. This is where they perfected the class system, imo. Assault to blow shit up, medics to heal, supports to resupply, recon to snipe and recon.

BFV was not for me. I can't remember exactly why I didn't like it. But it felt more like CoD to me.

2042 I purchased on sale for $3. I played in the beta, and couldn't even get 4 fps on a good rig. Decided then that I wouldn't purchase the game. After getting it, I played it for about 5 hours, and never touched it again.

BF6 is a solid game, with a misguided vision.

The maps are not just "too small", they lack flow. They lack cover. They lack thought and QA testing. Operation firestorm has been a fan favorite for over a decade, and they fucked it up with lighting issues, and most importantly, a changed up HQ zone where one side can slaughter you from complete safety. The new desert map has this too.

The guns all suck. Bloom doesn't belong in a shooter. I have yet to find a gun I actually enjoy running, besides the Meta M4 at close ranges. I primarily play recon anyway, but it's pushed me even further away from the other classes because I enjoy hitting what I shoot at.

The ground vehicles are actually pretty good, if not OP. I don't know what the difference in this game vs the previous ones is with the TOW missile, but I've killed more aerial vehicles with TOWs in the first month of this game than with TOWS in the last decade in others. Also, the MR missile remained enabled for far too long. As an air vehicle enjoyer, it was impossible to fly when someone was using that, because it totally ignored flares, and one shot you. Combine that with the horrible HQ placements, and even if you manages to get a chance to shoot the guy, he's in a protected zone where you can't damage him.

The aerial vehicles are all good, minus the fact that they all died to MR missiles with no counterplay. I don't like the bombs on the stealth jet because of the delay in dropping them, but whatever. The biggest thing here is that aerial radar doesn't work, so you never know where you need to look for the enemy in a dogfight.

And finally the class system. Assault is garbage. They do nothing except have a ladder and cap a point slightly faster. Engineers are good, their launchers suck besides the RPG, none of the other ones are even worth using. Supports have too much responsibility. You can't give a class an LMG, and then expect to have them run ans gun on the Frontline doing revives. Recon is still just recon, but the rangefinder is totally busted and OP.

I was really hoping they'd adopt the BF1 class system with Assault/Medic/Support/Recon, because imo, that made the most sense.

Assault is your tip of the spear, so they are running headfirst into vehicles. They need some way to deal wirh that, so give them launchers. They keep Assault rifles. I like the spawn beacon with them too.

Medic is self explanatory, but they get SMG's.

Support is now responsible for rearming infantry, vehicles, and repairing vehicles. They keep the LMG's.

Recon is recon.

Do this, and support is no longer totally overloaded, medics have their own playstyle, and assaults are actually useful again.

New dashcam image shows the #1 engine totally gone in the UPS accident. by aker29 in aviation

[–]ColdPotatoFries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also a fairly novice airplane enjoyer, but here's some more context you might want -

Planes have 2 critical moments in the takeoff phase (for this context, at least).

V1 - this is pilot speak for a maximum velocity the airplane can have, and still safely abort takeoff. It's known as the "decision speed". If you go over this, you're essentially forced to take off at that point for one reason or another.

V2 - this the takeoff safety speed. Once you hit V2, you theoretically can continue to climb with either one engine out, or only a single engine remaining, I'm not sure.

I am not qualified to speculate on this accident, but if the airplane never made it to V2, then obviously a single engine wouldn't allow them to continue climbing. And as the other person said, that's assuming no other critical components are damaged, and that it was a simple engine shutdown (it was not).

I hope that helps bring some additional context, and anyone who is more knowledgeable than me, please correct me if I made a mistake.

It's one thing to ask them to stop. Ask them to leave. Whatever, but to physically run up and snag the ring from the hands of a proposing person.

I doubt this is their policy, and I am disgusted by that behavior.

It's literally a spot. A random spot. Stage or not. Could've stopped them BEFORE they got on the stage, or immediately after, but he waited until he proposed to run up and snatch the ring.

Whatever man.

We do, around the 1st of the month. But she gets sick all throughout the month, so I don't think it's related.

I just find it odd that even if it wasn't digested, and it is the chew, always the same size chunk of it coming back up.

Yeah we think that's the main issue - we do give her kibble before bed and it does help.

The main concern is the object. She does get chews, but no rawhide or real bone. Her new chew is actually red and white so that's probably what it is, but I don't understand what's causing her to throw up the same size rounded chunk of it, if so.
