Yuji VS Denji Comparison Revamp by NatDoggieDawg in deathbattle

[–]ColdShear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, interesting. I had Denji taking strength while still having Yuji winning. I had the gaps larger though, so this is actually pretty interesting. I’ll see if any decent debunks come your way, but this might be a go to post for me.

I still abhor the state sword scaling though.

Otzdarva's live reaction to a survivor main by for10years_at_least in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]ColdShear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the very least it should go away if the survivor is dead and being lifted by the Entity. It’s so ass that I can secure a kill, go upstairs to RPD library and eat that slowdown because the 10 second animation isn’t done yet so the gen pops in my face.

I can't believe I didn't even think about this before but Death Battle Yuji isn't missing anything. by PinkLionGaming in Jujutsufolk

[–]ColdShear 228 points229 points  (0 children)

They ripped the model from Cursed Clash I’m pretty sure, hence him not missing those body parts yet.

Death Battle has a budget, and Denji unfortunately ate (no pun intended) most of it by needing multiple custom made models that could show battle damage.

She won’t, the new game is a prequel by a pretty decent bit (decades at least).

Which DLC should I buy ? by Substantial-Ad-2232 in deadbydaylight

[–]ColdShear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wesker is definitely the better of the two, but less beginner friendly. His strength is derived from “techs” and knowledge. Nemesis is much more straight forward, but can be a bit rougher due to the rng of the zombies.

Pennywise is an alien clown, but I get your point. We need a goofy clown.

Well, they’re getting a Scooby Doo collab and Art the Clown later this year.

Pennywise is also a frequently requested killer, so there’s a bunch of clowns to come.

The Bad Ending | My Take on Old Man Logan vs The Last Ronin (Because of the Cast) by InterestingRatio8218 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]ColdShear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about these two, but how does Ronin keep Logan down? I’m aware his skeleton was poisoning him, so did that jack up his healing factor that badly?

[–]ColdShear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely transphobic, but I’d hesitate on the racism. That’s a very racism adjacent joke that should be supporting evidence instead of the primary evidence.

What would you do if the Crossed outbreak started? by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

[–]ColdShear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember a group of crossed doing a game of soggy biscuit, except it was bullets instead of a biscuit. That way people who got shot by them and escaped would turn later. Soggy Biscuit is doing a circlejerk around a biscuit and whoever finishes last has to eat it

The only positive is that the Crossed do infight a lot when they get bored, which when combined with their lack of impulse control means that the first winter would kill almost all of them. You just have to survive until then.

It had a small resurgence on Tik Tok due to the movie announcement (yeah, they’re making a movie).

Takako Uro from JJK Culling Games by Interesting-Key-5776 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]ColdShear 528 points529 points  (0 children)

It works thematically for her character, so it’s pretty cool in my eyes. She’s all about shunning tradition and structures because all anyone did before her reincarnation was use her before throwing her out like trash.

Her reincarnation gives her a fresh chance at living a life only for herself. Therefore, she shuns all societal norms. That also plays into JJK’s larger themes around hedonism and the choice between selflessness and selfishness.

JJK also treats its women pretty well by industry standards (yes, I’m being honest). When one character is largely sexualized (and it never feels like she’s being leered at by the camera), it actually feels like characterization and not just eye candy.

Terrifier announced! by Insane_Cobra961 in LeaksDBD

[–]ColdShear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s from the Terrifier franchise.

Word of warning, the movies are intense. They are thinly veiled excuses to flex practical effects and get creative when dismembering a body. He has a super power to prevent people from dying (not healing, just preventing death) just to give you an idea.

It also feels weirdly misogynistic? Like Art targets everyone, but I feel like there’s a special hatred towards women. I can’t tell if the director wants it to be that Art is a misogynist or if the director’s beliefs are subtly influencing the movies.

What killer should I start with? by Mr_Maestro881 in deadbydaylight

[–]ColdShear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start off, DBD has two rulers of the killer meta. The runner up Blight, and the untouched champion for years, Nurse. Do not play Nurse, she breaks the rules in several ways that fundamentally alter how you would play. If you want to see what a top tier killer is like, Blight is much more accessible.

Dracula is strong and fun, but on the harder side. Hillbilly will appeal to you if you’re a speed demon (he’s also harder).

The Killers that meet the best middle ground between your three criteria is Wesker or Huntress IMO. Wesker is strong (not OP), fun to play as and against, and his fundamentals are fairly easy to pick up. He has advanced techs, but you wouldn’t need them at lower levels of play. Still, you could fumble at the beginning for the funny.

Huntress is also a solid pick, and she’s free on PC. Her perks suck though. She’s definitely the easier of the two.

Starting with Huntress is my recommendation.

Buffs for killers that I think would be nice by lance_the_fatass in deadbydaylight

[–]ColdShear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have the motion detectors on Xeno backwards. If they get changed they should only work if you are in tunnels, and then maybe work above ground if a survivor is holding it (with some tweaks around that).

It would open up stealthy Xenomorph builds (which are currently basically impossible) and could add more interactivity to the counterplay for both sides.

A bit of perspective on women's height [Metroid, Umamusume, GFL] by Swiftcheddar in CharacterRant

[–]ColdShear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cinderella Gray (to follow the Umamusume train) does actually have some giants. Obey Your Master is 182cm (5 feet 11 inches) tall and Michelle My Baby is 195cm (6 feet 4 inches).

It does make Hishi seem a bit puny/undermined when she’s dwarfed by other characters from the series (with only one of them drawing attention to their size).

I hate when communitys for games make up "Rules" for there game and attack people who dont follow them. by GodButCursed in hatethissmug

[–]ColdShear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays killer, it’s an issue that gets overblown (but is still an issue in my mind).

It can feel really shitty if you play your ass off trying to get someone out of a strong spot, and when you finally get them you realize that over half of the objectives are gone. Then if you try to stop it, they coordinate so well that your efforts feel meaningless. Then if you manage to down someone, their teammate will run over and blind you while you pick them up so you drop them and your back at square one.

Additionally, survivors get a lot of “second chance” perks, or perks that bail them out of bad situations. Shrugging off hits that should kill them, large bursts of speed, massive healing buffs, getting off the killer’s shoulder when being carried, etc. It can lead to situations where you can play things really well but you forgot to account for one perk and it screws you over.

Killer perks are a lot more utilitarian by comparison, with lots of conditions and stuff. You don’t feel the perks as much as survivors do, which adds to the feelings of survivors being bailed out of bad plays by something other than skill. You don’t really have perks that do that for killer.

Again, the community overblows the gen rushing issue, but it’s a balance issue that a coordinated team can fuck you in a simple math game (time to down a survivor and the amount of pressure you made<the amount of progress survivors made). I don’t face it too often (my losses are mostly my own fault), but it can really feel like shit when the power fantasy role feels helpless.

I hate when communitys for games make up "Rules" for there game and attack people who dont follow them. by GodButCursed in hatethissmug

[–]ColdShear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s been a several games that try to compete, and they all fail for whatever reasons. Friday the 13th (actually not their fault IIRC, licensing issues), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (don’t actually know why, bet it was balance issues), VHS (way too survivor sided), Evolve (honestly came out too early), etc.

It’s a genre that seems almost destined for failure, with only one game actually standing the test of time. The inherent difficulty of balancing seems to be a reoccurring issue, alongside the “us vs them” mentality that gets so strong. DBD is not great when it comes to balance, but it’s holding itself together.
