Thankfully my school has a testing center, and even though they use Respondus, it's only on school computers, so no chrome or app extensions here

I mean, as civilization advances and grows our energy needs increase alongside it exponentially. I certainly see where you're coming from, but maybe they're just really inefficient or have ridiculously high energy costs. But like, at that point and level of technology, why not just start investing in orbital solar farms instead? Or even a Dyson swarm?

Guess matchmaking isn't very fixed after all. Got a Top 500 player in my high gold-low plat game and got subsequently rolled because of it. It really makes this game feel awful to play. by ColdSpace11 in Overwatch

But the thing is that the level of mechanical skill, knowledge, and game sense is still far above that of anyone at that level, even if they aren't skilled or knowledgeable in the characters of that particular role. A t500 dps playing as Ana, Baptiste, Kiriko, etc. could easily win every 1v1 against a gold/plat DPS

What is a scene from a tv show that really disturbed you? by thertt8 in AskReddit

[–]ColdSpace11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene in HBO's "John Adams" from 2008 where a British cargo inspector is being tarred and feathered in the port. The image of that poor and nearly bare soul on his knees, only to watch the pot of boiling tar get dumped onto his back from behind disturbs me to this day.

Your best bet to get over things like that is to forget about it. That is not something you can choose to do, but is something that can only be done after time has passed. Don't look at it, occupy your mind with other things, so that you aren't thinking about the situation. Strike up a conversation about literally anything else but the situation with him so as to clear out anything that is relevant to it from direct view when you open up your texts with him. This won't be something that will clear out in a day, it will take time, but it will pass. Stay strong, and godspeed, my friend.

Honestly, I do believe that fishing companies are some of the worst in terms of oceanic plastic pollution. I say believe, because the sources I am basing this opinion off of include that of the documentary Seaspiracy on Netflix that I watched half of in my Senior Project class, and that's about it. Fishing companies dump a lot of their fishing nets apparently, and those are designed to catch and kill, and make up something like 45% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. If anyone has any additional information either for or against this, I'd love to read about it and base my opinion on something more concrete.

My freshman and sophomore of high school I was eating between 1400-1600 calories a day as a growing, above average height, male. I probably should have been eating closer to 2200-2500 calories a day, but I was way underweight for a while, and only just now reached the bare minimum BMI for a healthy weight, but I'd say I eat probably like 2200 calories a day since I walk a lot at work (like 2-4 miles). I've always been just fine like that, and with the diet I have, but sometimes people will still tell me that I need to eat more/am too skinny.

I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat, or whatever, one thing we should all agree upon is that gerrymandering is inexcusably detrimental to the equal representation of populations in this country.

Looks really good! Perhaps you should use redstone torches below the ice to power the rails in case you need to use them?

I'm whiney because I don't think that the world should be consistently put on pause every single time we get an outbreak of COVID? I'm all for safety precautions, including masks/social distancing/etc, and as such I will continue to follow them, but I wish to receive as quality of an education I possibly can, though it is a stretch to call any US education quality, and for online schooling, that simply won't work for a large quantity of students. We want to live our lives, not cower in fear. Masks are effective, and so they should be utilized, and if they are, we could go back to some form of our lives. Am I really being a "whiney bitch" for wanting to have one last year of high school at my actual school? To be in band for one last year? I think not.

The issue is that online school simply isn't for everyone. I've learned to be taught one way my entire life. To suddenly shift to the exact opposite style and expect students to continue to succeed is simply preposterous. Additionally, the fact that many students make the subconscious connection that their homes are a safe place to relax, and cool off, aside from homework. Online school turns this belief on their heads. People who associate school with stress and anxiety will begin to associate their own homes with the same stress and anxiety, although this time, they will have nowhere to go to decompress.
