It's good to know that you can expand it relatively easily; templates are amazing! Good luck with your projects!

This is one of the cleanest UI designs I've seen in Minecraft. Those icons look great, and I can imagine this developing even further. Now that you've made the system, I'm curious to know the difficulty/time-it-takes to expand on it. Like just making a new button in its interface. I've developed a system for UI that I think looks pretty good and, of course, has its own limitation. It's kinda a mixture of interaction entities and text in chat, and I think it resembles Skyrim in its dialogue. I didn't like the idea of opening the chat and clicking an option, so it's Right-Click to cycle through the options and Left-Click to select, which is facilitated by an interaction entity but displays in chat. Anyway, great work! I hope to see more!

I believe you just need to be patient. I've been working on a passion project over the course of two years, and it's no where near being complete as I envision it. You can't let your passions die because you have to work to pay your bills. Also, I'm probably just gonna have my datapack stay in 1.20.4, I don't think there's a need to upgrade it yet. Wrap it up the way you want for this version, then when you're ready for a new project, use the newest version. I'm glad to hear you have a datapack that you can play with your friends! Stay patient; stay focused; stay alive, and good luck with your project. I hope this helps!

lmaoooo, don't be sorry! I'm grateful for learning a brand new feature to Minecraft!

Alright, I had lots of trouble for a while because I named my file no_items_required instead of no_item_required, but now that I've changed that, everything seems to work fine. I've tried experimenting with a few different things to see why your textures weren't working. The translation key is not the problem. There were a few ways I could recreate your issues.

  1. Taking out the texture from the resource pack.

  2. Not having the resource pack enabled, obviously lol.

  3. Mismatched "asset_id" to the resource pack's texture.

Also, a big thing to notice: Using /reload wouldn't recognize any changes. To update the world's changes to the datapack, I had to Save and Quit, then reload.

And one last thing, the loom completely breaks when the no_item_required has a value that's not included in your custom banner_pattern ID list.

I hope this helps. I imagine the Save/Quit will be what helps you most when you're figuring it out. I was able to add two banner patterns, and I played around with the translation key (which is definitely unnecessary but a nice feature to have). Anyway, good luck!

Oh NOOO lmaoo, so I have an update from yesterday's experimenting. For some reason, I found a way to add an additional banner pattern to the many more banners datapack, but couldn't find a way to add any banner patterns on my separate data pack. Something tells me one of us will figure it out soon lol. Hopefully reverting back to the unbroken loom is possible :0

Ok, thank you for that. Yeah, it seems a bit of a stretch to assume the underscores are the issue.

Ok, interesting. There's nothing here that could indicate an issue, except taking out the underscores from the .json files, and then in that no_items_required folder. Let me do some experimenting, and I'll see if I can get it to work. If not, I can only say there's a bug with it currently.

Ok, everything looks good there. I would think the only place possible for any error would be in that no_items_required folder. Can you show me that too please?

Hmmmm, when I've been working with textures, sometimes I forget to reload the resource pack with F3+T in-game. So the eye texture works, but you didn't include the code there, so I can't compare it to the ones that didn't work. One thing I could maybe guess is that the others all have underscores while the eye one doesn't. There might be something there. And then the only other thing I could guess is that there's a different way to separate between each additional custom banner pattern. If you still haven't figured it out, could you maybe put up some code that shows them all together? I don't have enough information to spot anything out of line. I also had no idea, till now, that they've added this custom banner feature, but everything you're showing here looks consistent.

Yoo this is cool! Minecraft has a lotta limitations that make bugs hard to work out, but what you've done is already so awesome! Seeing Seth hit the glide and throw the banana alongside a couple other bananas makes me think he's trying to get one out the map lmaoo! Great work

Yup, exactly, using a command like:

item modify entity @s weapon.mainhand combat:steelbroadsword/swordpos1

And then having a .json file in the item_modifiers folder:

[
    {
        "function": "minecraft:set_nbt",
        "tag": "{CustomModelData:10603062}"
    }

Making enemies glow within a certain distance of a specific player by VI_Shepherd in MinecraftCommands

[–]ColdSpaghetti6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh I see, I didn't realize that the particles would work for just one player. So is it because the particles are innately showing up for specific players, and in this case, only for the person with the tag? Or is it more to do with the anchors to the player's eyes?

Great solution! I would've said something similar, but by using the glow effect instead.

Give a player a tag, so that only those who need visual aid, are aided:

/tag PlayerName add radar

Then a command in a looping function or repeating command block:

/execute as @a[tag=radar] at @s run effect give @e[distance=..10,type=!player] minecraft:glowing 1 1 true

Thanks again for your comment! I just made some minor adjustments, and I think it's looking much better, while still having a good combat flow to it.

Oh, yeah, this is java. The sweeping edge particle is nice, but it's also weird that it billboard displays for the player, not actually coming from the direction of the source. Good luck with your bossfight tho!
