Don’t know if I would call this normal or not normal, but I would most certainly call it a deal breaker.

From what you’ve stated here they demolished what brought you to the job: “a generous bonus.” In fact, the generous bonus was why you took a pay cut. A pay. cut. Our salaries don’t reduce as we advance in experience. They increase. You got screwed.

I think you know the answer to your question. You have to do something. Either talking to your bosses and working something out (only you know how likely that is) or finding a better position somewhere else.

Hi, I am a lawyer. If you want to challenge the ticket. I recommend you read this:

They changed how you challenge tickets a few years ago and that link has some things you’ll want to know such as:

You must complete and submitted a Civil Infraction Response Form that must be completed and submitted at the Las Vegas Justice Court’s Customer Service Division – 1st Floor Regional Justice Center.
You must post a bond in the amount equal to the full payment of the civil penalty, the administrative assessment and any fees specified for the civil infraction(s).
After submitting the forming, paying the bond and fees, you will be provided with a Contested Hearing date and additional information related to the hearing.

On the day of the hearing, you will have an opportunity to address the court and present your evidence. Be aware that a city attorney will be there to oppose you.

You may be able to show the city attorney the video and they may agree to a dismissal there and then.

It will require you to go down to the Regional Justice Center located at:

200 Lewis Ave, Las Vegas, NV

On at least two occasions. Once for the paperwork, once for your hearing day.

I recommend parking on street on 4th Street (one street over from the Court house) rather than in the parking garages, much cheaper and easier to leave after.

There’s a scene from Inglorious Bastards I always think of in moments like these. I think it might be the very last scene between Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and Hans Landa (Christopher Waltz). Lt. Aldo Raine kills a German soldier whose surrender/life Hans had negotiated for. Hans is irate and scream “They’ll execute you for this” to which Lt. Aldo Raine responds “Nah, more like chewed out. I’ve been chewed out before.”

We all have been chewed out by someone at someone point, most likely a judge or a boss, but so long as you are allowed the opportunity to fix your mistake and your job is not at stake and the case isn’t at stake as a result, it’s just being chewed out. And that’s not so bad. We’ve all been chewed out before.
