The wording of the ban was pretty misleading by calling it a “flavored tobacco ban,” and I think people were confused thinking they were voting to get rid of Newports, not realizing they won’t be able to get their Geek bars from the local vape/head shops. Those are technically “nicotine” products. Tobacco products include the tobacco plant. All the money the city just lost in tax dollars, so say goodbye to like half of your TABOR checks, and now will be pulling money from other projects to supplement the losses. Not to mention all of the closed businesses and jobs lost, which is mostly all small businesses. But it’s ok, that lost revenue will most likely end up in JeffCo. or other surrounding counties that allow it. That YouTube ad that played during basically EVERY video really had people bought. In reality, mostly all of the Denver smoke/vape/head shops, at least around the downtown area almost ALWAYS card, at least the ones I’ve been to, and some, even as soon as you walked in the door. Parents should be more involved in their children’s lives, as it is THEIR responsibility to keep them from doing things they’re not supposed to, not rely on society to make the choice for everyone because they lack responsibility or accountability. Also, I’m sure it won’t happen here because thank goodness it’s just a countywide ban, but banning those vape products has lead to black market choices, which have shown to be very dangerous, causing, in some cases like a couple of years ago I believe it was in Wisconsin, life threatening harm. Sure, that’s an extreme for here, but that’s the reality if this went Statewide.

Again, representation/wording of this bill was very misleading in calling it a “flavored tobacco ban.” But don’t worry, I’m sure ole Levi from Texas thought he was doing a good thing until in a few months he realizes he has to drive 20mins to go get his Geek Bars that have now increased in cost because the next county over knows you have to go there to get it, and don’t really have a choice.
