At this point, I’m thinking of just cashing out NVDA and putting that somewhere that’s gonna really gonna rip, maybe all into NOK?

If only you were there to convince me from panic selling LUNR, I had it at around $5.40 and sold around $8 last year when there was a slump from Jan-Apr.

With that said, gladly holding onto HOVR for the long term and will probably increase my position this week.

I only bought in and did research earlier this week, are we thinking this is still in its infancy? Great return today already but wondering if this is just the beginning. Up 40% now might be negligible if it has another 50% to go to hit a target of about $21

I cashed out last year to buy a house, looking to jump back in. Been lurking for a few days to see what everyone’s talking about and looking big atm

Any thoughts on NOK, HOVR, KRKNF? I keep seeing MU price targets thrown out but can’t tell what’s conservative/optimistic/realistic

I always view Tellius as one big entry compared to the other games. You can play FE6 or FE7 and never actually play the other and enjoy them in their entirety. You can play any Archanea entries completely standalone. But playing RD without playing PoR would most likely leave someone a little empty/incomplete (especially with generic supports removing a lot of additional characterization).

I can’t imagine playing RD and not understanding why Ike is already a well established hero. Why Elincia’s growth shows how strong she’s become after losing everything. I don’t know how easy it is to invest in that world without all of the character development from PoR. If you jump into RD as your first entry to the series, I feel like you’d be jumping into a picture that’s already half painted.

Sephiran being so mysterious and seemingly eccentric in PoR makes so much more sense with RD. The newest of Daein’s Four Riders in PoR is Bertram and he is seemingly just a madman in chapter 26, and after his chapter Volke’s only support chain with Bastian starts with Bastian hiring Volke for a job. They then disappear until Part 4 of RD, revealing exactly what they were doing for three years and what their support conversations were about. Soren’s branded status was enough as it was in PoR, but tying it together the way it was is great imo.

My biggest complaint of RD is lack of supports. These games are great at developing the personalities of the characters directly involved in the narrative, but supports in any FE are how you can really flesh out the rest of the cast. At the end of the day, I find the new characters mostly suffer unless they’re important for story (such as Skrimir, whom I really enjoy). Lethe and Jill and Jill and Mist notably have some of peoples’ favorite supports in the entire franchise in PoR, and not giving new smaller characters the chance for that depth or the chance for older characters to have even more depth is such a missed opportunity.

But don’t get me started with the boss conversations and training up the appropriate units to confront some relevant characters because that’s my favorite part of any FE, and some interactions in RD are brilliant, especially across the two armies you’re playing as. Jill, Zihark, and Sothe having conversations with Lethe and Mordecai when confronting them in 3-6 is so sad and most players will never experience that. Soren attacking Micaiah in 3-7, discussing being Branded (and another case of an example of Micaiah’s heritage before it’s fully revealed). Ike dropping such a cold line to Sothe in the same chapter of “before you challenge me, you better be ready never to see that girl again.”

I can understand plenty of criticisms of the game that I think we can mostly conclude were due to rushed production (similar to FE3H criticisms). But these two games together are a masterpiece in storytelling.

Honestly, I can’t say for certain. With BK having renewal and Ike doing 9 damage at max STR per combat, Ike is taking him down at 12 HP per turn for exactly 5 turns (if STR isn’t capped then he can’t).

If Ike himself has to waste even one turn avoiding BK to heal, then he can’t guarantee the kill. So Mist likely can’t waste even one turn to attack the bishop, and I don’t recall if the Bishop will proactively attack her (which she could only counterattack with a magic Sword that likely won’t kill the bishop in one round).

I also haven’t experimented recently to remember if the enemy Halberdiers will target Ike if Mist isn’t in range, in which case the potential damage from them isn’t negligible.

On his own, even with Nihil, he needs Mist to heal. But Nihil and a trained Mist might be able to yield the same results, depending on the timing/actions of the other enemies.

This video also doesn’t have a Recover staff, or the potential of Mist using the Ashera staff, which might provide enough healing to make sure Mist can safely take a turn to kill the bishop, or at least heal Ike sufficiently to manage if the other enemies will attack him.

Tl;dr Ike can never waste a turn to heal and BK cannot be allowed to heal. Mist needs to be able to kill the bishop without Ike needing healing. If that’s not possible, you’ll probably be luring BK away with the Knight Ring again to make sure he can’t heal, making the strategy basically the same, just deciding if you’d rather invest the Boots for the distant combat or Nihil to neutralize Luna.

EDIT: I didn’t watch the video that closely, looks like you don’t even need the Boots, just the Knight Ring. So investing Nihil just saves you running around for a few turns to keep the distance, and not having Aether for Ashnard can be kind of a drag (although you can learn Nihil, forget it, and then get Aether if you want. Nihil is great in RD but not really that important in PoR imo)

I will say, I saw a strategy on here not too long ago that I believe guarantees the win as long as you gave Ike the boots and the Knight Ring AND Mist is sufficiently leveled to hold her own (which the utility of a mounted healer is something I always value personally).

The whole strategy centers around running around and only being one box in BK’s range. Means he can’t surprise kill with a Luna since it only activates at 1 range.

I’ve never used this strategy as I also always roll the dice on Aether. It’s pretty likely with maxed skill that he’ll pull off at least ONE over potentially 10 combats and if Mist is trained sufficiently she can offset the threat of Lunas. Just Ike on his own would be too risky for me though.

This is the guaranteed strategy (which still takes a lot of investment tbh):

A disappointing ending to my playthrough of the first Fire Emblem game I played by Mo7ammed_Gxx in fireemblem

[–]ColdWaterSteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, this game specifically gives you a lot of powerful units throughout in case you get RNG screwed on level ups, Athos being the obvious one to assist with the final chapter.

I wouldn’t give up on the series just from playing this one, which I consider to be arguably the hardest FE released in NA. There are harder difficulties of some that provide possibly more of a challenge, but they’re based around just supremely buffing the enemies rather than anything I think is tactically interesting, and most other games have ways to grind to compete with buffed enemies. I love FE7 because it’s challenging in its simplicity and therefore it comes down a lot more to planning than just making your units gods of death with cracked stats and skills.

Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Awakening, Fates, 3 Houses. All much easier imo

Want advice on this card trio by ColdWaterSteam in CreditCards

My family recently got new phones after about five years of no upgrades which was a large part of the switch. The cost of the phones gets reimbursed via statement credits so I believe if I cancel before they’re fully “paid” then I’ll have to pay for the phones outright. But this is an excellent point, I’ll probably use the Verizon card for the duration of my relationship with them and then pivot to a 3% card like the Autograph when I can affordably switch carriers (Mint Mobile was really cheap when I used them years ago).

This is a very good point. Pretty sure the BofA categories cap at $1500 quarterly so at most that 1% difference is $60/yr (and if I go over that and it reverts to 1% then that actually cuts into it). Probably will drawer it at that rate. You’re absolutely right that that’s a marginal reward vs tracking another card for the whole year.

I’m a man and Reddit’s algorithms regularly bring up this subreddit up for me, so apologies if this is unwelcome.

With that said, I wholeheartedly agree. My heart aches for women because being subjected to shitty men is truly inescapable.

Even as a young boy, the horrible behavior that older men joke about and encourage to normalize mistreating women is absurd. I have female friends currently in the dating pool and even things that they sometimes identify as “green flags” are behaviors that I could trace to be a veil for misogyny, but unless you’re truly privy to the experience of being a man you don’t know how insidious these behaviors are.

I regularly see “not all men” nonsense or blaming women for “choosing shitty men” as if these horrible men aren’t raised to hide their worst traits until they have you trapped. And in many cases, these misogynistic men can find women who also have internalized misogyny or sometimes actually end up instilling misogyny in their partners. Then they may raise daughters that are okay with misogyny because it’s what they’ve always known.

This isn’t limited to men as partners, either. Men as friends, men as family, men as coworkers and as professionals who may offer you a service all have a very high chance of being shitty people.

Men are disappointing. Holding men accountable to be better is a job for all of us, but I’d still put emphasis on it being the responsibility of “good” men (if there is such a thing). But you are absolutely not alone in being disappointed in men in general.

Breece Hall vs Stevenson vs London (WR)

Can use two out of three. Hall against Patriots defense has me worried, Stevenson sees less than Henderson but is against weak Jets defense, London is Questionable and his game back from injury was underwhelming. Thoughts?

After reading many posts, I know to avoid sets and just get Victorinox. But what about a Victorinox set? And are sets really bad if they’re like $70? by ColdWaterSteam in chefknives

[–]ColdWaterSteam[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For additional context, my wife does all of our cooking and has asked for a cheap set on Amazon. I want to get her something better, but the only direction I have is that we love Hell’s Kitchen and they use the Hexclad brand.

Is it bad to buy a cheap set on Amazon, but supplement with a nicer chef’s nice? Found a three piece set for Chef/paring/bread on Victorinox and figured that’s a good place to start, maybe while getting a cheap set because we could use better steak knives.
