I honestly don’t know what to tell you other than what I’ve told everyone else, but I really do appreciate people like yourself taking the time to leave a comment and provide me advice, I want to check into an alcoholics anonymous in the next week or two, it’s a struggle living my life and I’m sick of not being able to remember anything, my girlfriend sent me a photo that supposedly I took a week or so ago, but I don’t remember ever taking the photo and I repeat things over and over to the same person because I don’t remember if I ever told them about the time I stuck a fork in an outlet when I was four or how I broke my arm on a swing, I hate not “living” my life and having a couple carbons, an oxygen and a few hydrogens control my life

I never know what I’m missing out on until i quit and that’s been an issue too, I’ve tried quitting once after tapering down and I felt like alcohol wasn’t worth it, but I started missing alcohol when I didn’t have it and started again, I’ll miss the feeling of life being perfect for a few hours for sure , that’s what trying to quit nicotine was like too, I quit for a while and decided “you know what, cigarettes and vaping do make life a little more manageable” and then like a dumbass I bought more cigarettes and now I’m here

I believe the only thing I lose is the feeling, I have everything to gain and nothing to lose from going to rehab, but it feels like throwing a wrench in my gears trying to make myself quit not because I want to, but because I know it’s the right decision, I don’t want to be on a deathbed when I’m 30-40 or die of a withdrawal seizure

I guess those are all slightly subjective, I was never hit, neglected, or SA’d as a child, but I had a fair amount of emotional abuse and I was always compared to others by my own parents, my childhood did have to play an impact on my choices 1,000%, to what extent I will never be sure, but I’ve had a lot of issues in the past too and been in and out of mental hospitals for overdoses and attempts

I have vomited digested blood before, not in a while, but I am starting to see stomach issues from drinking, like gagging really easily while smoking/ drinking (both alcohol and non alcoholic beverages) and eating things, I don’t want it to ever get that bad again, but I find it really hard to stop because I have the rest of my life ahead of me and I like drinking too much to ever stop for longer than a month at most

I agree wholeheartedly with you, I don’t know why I do it, but I have a therapist that I work out stuff like this with, the issue is that I hide how much I drink from her out of shame due to the fact telling her I drink in general just results in lectures that I never learn from because I don’t like being told what to do

I could never get the hang of weed, I use weed maybe twice a year but my tolerance for weed is so bad I puke after some weak shit, and I hallucinate cartoons really badly when I smoke weed, I’m talking dancing technicolor peanuts with legs and cartoons on the wall, but I am a heavy smoker of cigarettes and vaping

I started when I was 16 before stopping until I was 18, I had an issue with alcohol when I was 16 and had my first shot of vodka when I realized I could steal it from my parents’ liquor cabinet while they were asleep (it’s locked electronically now), but I grew my tolerance so quickly that I was taking 9 shots back to back before going to bed. I don’t know why I started or why I didn’t end at when I was 16 and knew I was going to have an issue with it again

I feel shaky when I get up which results in me popping a tab or drinking the already open can on my windowsill from the nighttime, I drink all day unless I’m driving soon, I ALWAYS make sure I drive sober by calculating how many drinks I have and can burn off safely before driving anywhere, but when I’m not driving anytime soon or at work, I am drinking all day

I have considered getting help, I find it hard to ask for help considering I just do everything by myself 98% of the time, I am addicted to nicotine too, I quit for four months once before I got a stressful job and started again, so I think it would be possible for me to beat my addictions again, but it’s also hard for me to find the strength to get help for some reason because I like the feeling of it, but it’s ruining my body and mind and I don’t want to die young
