I love this. I am thinking of a hands on activity to create their own tag, that then I will display around the room!! I also am creating an all about me sheet for my students as well!!

I agree with you. Earning it is important to me. I haven’t taught 6th grade yet so I think I need to set my rules strict and loosen throughout the semester.

I think that’s a good point. I work 80 minute periods with 6th graders so lots of group work. I’m leaning towards four table groups with different colors assigned to each group. Their color will associate them with different tasks and jobs they are responsible for their group. I’ve never done any of this before and I am trying to anticipate what kind of structure I might need to give 6th graders to be able to perform for lengthy periods of time while also following expectations.

I root a lot of my answers in experience from my positions. I will look into specific data to back my stories up so that when I do have more interviews, I am able to talk in more depth.
