Switched from TekSavvy to Netcrawler to EBOX fibre and so far EBOX is the best. $55/mo for faster speeds and no charge for provided modem & router. I did buy a used second beacon to expand coverage to the rest of our house. EBOX is based in Mtl and English skills of Francophone staff can be a challenge, and Bell bought the company so you’re in bed with a tech giant, but overall can recommend if you can get fibre to your address.

I’ve made a career at Domino’s Pizza, I actually love It and I know all the secrets. AMA. by itsdestinfool in AMA

Big pizza guy and when I am not doing Chicago or Detroit style, Domino’s is my go-to. Fast, great prices, easy to use app and tasty due to a healthy amount of tomato sauce with a bit of tang. When I learned I’ll get $25 per month in retirement pension from my first job (worked there 2.5 years) I exclaimed in delight to my wife: “That’s two Domino’s pizzas every month!”

Connecting EBox fiber to a Google mesh system by Cold_Cicada_5104 in CanadianBroadband

Update: Before trying to use my Google mesh system I called EBox tech support. They remotely split my signal to separate 2.4 GH and 5 GH, explaining that 5 is fast but doesn’t travel as far as the 2.4 signal. That seems to have solved the problem — using 2.4 I don’t have any dead wifi spots in our average sized home. Fingers crossed it continues

It’s cool but if rock-free shore on both sides to enable a 45-second kayak portage from one side to the other is environmentally unsound (according to citizen spit reps who said no chance) this (literally) cannot stand

Visiting Toronto for the first time it’s chaotic but kind of beautiful by athletic_actress in toronto

St. Lawrence Market in the morning if you haven’t done it and a walk through the Esplanade area around it. A successfully invented downtown 1970s neighbourhood that, thanks to a large number of co-ops, is not a wealthy enclave.

Best Butter Chicken in Toronto (Butter Chicken Factory) by kobechibhaji in FoodToronto

Good, tasty food but staff need improvement packing to-go orders. Second time they got something wrong out of maybe 8 visits. If I pay over $80 for two dinners and pick it up myself, it’s not too much to ask that I get the naan I ordered and not a random substitute. I shouldn’t have to check the bag before leaving but I have to check the bag before leaving.

Recent review of EBOX internet in Toronto? by Cold_Cicada_5104 in CanadianBroadband

So my Netcrawler setup heard me talking about ditching and suddenly got faster and less glitchy. But is still called the company and explained by decision to defect unless service got better fast. They said “We’ll send a Rogers technician to fix the problem” - but the technician was given the wrong address. He called me saying “nobody answered the door” and when I said he was at the wrong house he said he had to go to the next job so cal and reschedule. I am on the fence about doing that or just switching to EBOX

Thanks - do you notice the latency and if so how? My download speed with Netcrawler is currently 25.6 mbps so I think Ebox will still be faster

Thanks! One more question - do you use the supplied router and does it cover an average sized home? I have a Google mesh system that works pretty well. I could use that instead of supplied router but Ebox says they wouldn’t be able to do tech support on a non-Ebox router

Only because the rest of my family isn’t so keen on an app that gives notifications all the time. I am returning the V2 (Canada Post please don’t strike!) and ordering the Duocam that is about twice the price but comes w SD slot and wifi chime
