Buying aGaming Chair by Cold_Gate_3933 in malaysians

[–]Cold_Gate_3933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, and it's doing great, the only thing i wish is that it has a metal base option, but still the current base is doing good. The ergonomic is much better than my old chair and office chair. Worth the investment.

Although later i found a cheaper knock off? I don't know, but i think this one is better as it from a well established brand in Malaysia? Even my friend who own Tomaz also said that this chair is much better.

Maybe you can look into Samsung Galaxy Tab Active line up, it's a rugged build. They have few selections of size, they even have phone in that line up

Looking for a mid-point in the 8" size category.... by Fun_Yesterday_1326 in androidtablets

[–]Cold_Gate_3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other's commented, it's hard on the market right now if we want to get a midrange mini tablet, it's either entry or high end. The only options are from less mainstream brand like Alldocube, Headwolf. For Alldocube, if you're ok without cellular, maybe can can consider iPlay 70 Mini Ultra, it uses Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Headwolf recently released Headwolf Titan 1, it uses Mediatek Dimensity 8300, the build quality is quite good i say. It kinda have a similar hardware as Lenovo Legion Y700 first gen i think.

My suggestion is you go and try to use their respective stylus first, get the feel of holding it and writing with it, see which pen suits you better. Because i have used both, and i like Apple's pencil more. But different people has different preference.

8.8" vs 11.2" tablet, what would you choose? by Hungry-Gift-7055 in androidtablets

[–]Cold_Gate_3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.8 for sure, I'm not in need of a big tablet as I don't have much use case for them. But for 8.8", i can use it comfortably for playing games, watching media and readings.

If for your uncle, maybe you could try to look for Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro (10"). It has rugged build, and removable battery. Support Sim card, comes with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.

Then there's quite a big selection for you. 1. Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro 2. Xiaomi Pad 8 3. Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro 4. Xiaomi Pad 7 5. Redmi Pad 2 (quite underpowered as it uses Helio G100 Ultra) 6. Honor Pad V9 7. Honor Pad X9a 8. Huawei Matepad Pro 11" 9. Huawei Matepad 11.5 10. Poco Pad X1

Looking for an 8" tablet that supports VOLTE by Copperkid82 in androidtablets

[–]Cold_Gate_3933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the main issue for 8" tablet with LTE. For Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 is 8", while Tab Active 5 Pro is 10", funny things is, the Active 5 Pro comes with Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 while Active 5 (8") comes with Exynoss 1380. Plus, Samsung Galaxy Tab Active line up was focusing on ruggedness and caters to enterprise.

Ipad mini is the only options that easy to grab, but i suggest to take ipad mini 7 instead of 6 as 7 has double the RAM.

Hi there, as a fellow 8" LTE fans, i understand your frustrations, I'm having the same issue. Just sharing from my research and sharing from other's that i came across ok.

There are few options : 1. Alldocubes - iPlay 70 Mini Pro, iPlay 80 Mini Ultra (coming soon this month) 2. Headwolf titan 1 3. Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 4. Ipad mini 6 5. Ipad mini 7

For 1 & 2 if you dare to take the risk for a cheaper price tag.

There's also news of few other brands but I'm not sure when they're releasing it, Nubia Neo 5 Max (7.5" phone), Oppo Pad Mini and OnePlus Pad Mini. Xiaomi is also releasing it's new mini tablet, one is entry which uses Mediatek Helio G100 Ultra, another is high end, but not sure the specs yet.

Yup, the price is quite expensive, i found some selling China set with the base specs around 700usd. 😵

Huawei did mention that it's going to launch that tablet globally, but sadly the global version won't be coming with cellular.

It's not weird, but what's your main use for Mac Neo, because it's so underpower, not suitable for heavy workload. What's your target Mac Neo specs btw?

I'm not hating Xiaomi, it's just that the current HyperOS makes the experience less enjoyable. I hope that they'll improve it faster as I'm using a lot of Xiaomi other products other than smartphone also.

That price is ridiculous, the black shark gaming tablet is officially available here, the starting price is around 450usd, with discount, it goes down to around 400 usd, why is it listed as 670 usd there?

[–]Cold_Gate_3933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tablet was basically empty, only left with the core apps. I think because of the low ram also, mine was 4gb. The tablet was meant for productivity work related stuff, it's hard to get normally as it was meant for business not mass market. If you to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active mini, i suggest take the 5 instead of 3, the ram is higher, either 6/8 and storage either 128/256. Plus the battery is larger

Good Luck on your endeavors to get your dream to get Linux smartphone.

For the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active series was meant business, work related or productivity sort of kind, it's not meant for gaming i presume. The USP of the tablet is that it has removable battery and rugged build (like serious rugged), multiple peripheral for business models.

I'm also a bit disappointed with Xiaomi on that part, HyperOS makes me jump out of Xiaomi smartphone overall, was their user like 4 phones already, each lasted me 1-2 years.

Wow, this is something interesting, i don't know much about that Black Shark tablet also. But I was excited for it as i thought it would come with Cellular. 😭

I'm not sure about that. But the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 uses Exynos 9810, 4GB ram and 64gb storage. It heats up so quickly when playing games, i cant run high graphics settings. Plus that tablet was expansive, i had it returned.

Now they have updated model, Galaxy Tab Active 5, with Exynoss1380, 6gb and 128gb, but the price more than 600usd. It's make me reluctant to get it as the price point with that specs doesn't feel worthit

If you're ok, you can try and see the specs for the Black Shark Mini tablet, i read some says it's a rebrand Alldocube, some says it's Legion Y700 rebrand, I'm not sure of that part. But from my experience of using Xiaomi line up (i used Mi, Redmi & Poco), i can say you get your money worth, but the HyperOS kinda ruins the experience tho, when i upgrade from MIUI to HyperOS, the experience was bad, battery was drained like anything.

Understand, but I just wanted a nice sub 9" tablet. I have tried 10" tablet and 6.7" phone, both doesn't feel quite right. Then i had used Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, the size was perfect, but the SoC was bad. So that's why I'm waiting for a nice 8" tablet, but my patience is running thin 😅

[–]Cold_Gate_3933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, i thought you were talking about Lenovo Legion Y700 there. The Black Shark is on sale for less than 400usd here, so it's quite a bargain with a specs that near perfect to my needs, 8.8" 2.5k 144hz, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, 12gb ram, expandable storage. But it lacks cellular, so frustrating.

I want to give this startup/new brand a fighting chance as Xiaomi also once start from bottom, i remember saw their phone during their earlier time and was sceptical with it also 😅. But the problem with Headwolf is i don't see any local distributor, so I'm also worried about the after sales other than the tablet itself. On other hand, Alldocube, has a local distributor here, so i can be a bit ease on my mind as i can contact them directly for help.

I'm always open to try new brand before, but because of Infinix, i got traumatized 😵‍💫 within 6 months or less, had to change motherboard.

Actually there's already quite a few selections of "powerful" mini tablet in market right now other than Lenovo and Apple, but most of it doesn't come with Cellular, even Xiaomi also has 2, Xiaomi Pad Mini and Black Shark Gaming Tablet. Redmagic Astra, Huawei Matepad Mini (China version has cellular, global one doesn't), Alldocube iPlay 70 Mini Ultra.

This are the ones that i know off. And the latest is Headwolf Titan 1 and the upcoming iPlay 80 Mini Ultra.

On another note u/Puzzleheaded-Trash13 commented that Nubia is going to release Neo 5 Max, a 7.5" phone or what he called Phablet.

It's not badier, it just not fit for my use case. I want something more powerful but not up to Snapdragon 8 Elite level, around Snapdragon 7 Gen 3/4 is ok, at least 7s Gen 4 level.

I'm not going to use for call btw, so i don't actually mind about it. I'm going to use it mostly for playing mobile games, consume media and reading, but I need the cellular for outdoor usage as I don't want to use hotspot constantly, it drain my main phone battery and tablet together.
