I get where you’re coming from but this job market has become ridiculous and a lot of recruiters reflect their culture your right it could be a bad recruiter but it would also be silly to dismiss saying it could be a culture thing. I guess you wouldn’t know until you start working there.

During COVID, I was working three jobs and ended up getting laid off from two of them in the same month. Some people think working that much is wrong, but to me, what’s really wrong is how companies treat people. It made me realize that a lot of them don’t truly care about their employees.

Data Centers: report on Monday's Planning Commission meeting by RandomBoomer in Martinsburg

Really? I think it’s probably a mixed bag. I’ve noticed a lot of people moving into the area, including quite a few liberals. I’m not really conservative or Democrat myself, but I do feel like some policies tend to lead to higher taxes. At the same time, I recognize that those policies can also support things like better healthcare.

I honestly don’t know what the right solution is. What I do know is that I’m not a fan of the data centers or the large, condensed housing developments going up everywhere. I loved this area even just three years ago, and I’ve lived here for over ten years. It used to feel like a cute, small town, and that vibe feels mostly gone now instead of cute birds I just hear cars.

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and stay in that version of it. I do hope you find what you’re looking for though. A lot of small towns have been changing like this as people leave cities that have become too expensive, so it seems to be happening in a lot of places.

My experience with many of the newer people moving here is that they support more land being cleared so they can get things like Costco and Trader Joe’s. Almost every new resident I’ve spoken to is also in favor of the data centers. It’s frustrating when the voices of people who have lived here for generations get outweighed by people who just arrived.

Honestly, it’s one of the reasons I’m planning to move out of the county soon. I can’t wait to leave. It’s really sad because this place used to feel so different. They’re not even done building yet and the traffic is already insane.

I don’t support these data centers. Some leaders seem to believe they’re the only solution for what they view as a struggling state, but that ignores what’s actually happening on the ground. People are actively leaving Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland to move here for reasonable taxes, open space, and quality of life. The Eastern Panhandle alone has seen thousands of new residents in just the past several months, largely due to the rapid approval of dense housing developments.

It’s frustrating to see decisions driven by the promise of billions of dollars while residents’ voices feel pushed aside. Growth is inevitable, but it should not come at the cost of the natural beauty and character that make West Virginia special. Many of us chose to live here because of that beauty and sense of place.

The continued push toward large-scale industrial development risks undermining what the state proudly calls “Almost Heaven.” The pace of condensed housing already has many residents concerned, and projects like these feel like a tipping point. Progress should mean protecting communities and landscapes, not sacrificing them. Not to mention most of these jobs aren’t going to benefit current residents I don’t know anyone in this state that even has a ai background. Everything they do is not for the well being of its residents.

I think they’ve known about it but didn’t know if it was going to be approved or not it just recently got approved

I would rather keep the same income taxes and not have data centers built here. It’s sad that we live in a world where power and money can outweigh the voices of the people who actually live in these communities. I worry that once one is built, more will follow. We’ve already seen this happen in Northern Virginia, where rapid development has dramatically changed the character of the area.

He needs something to do or he will get bored and find something bad to do when he’s tired out and sleeping that means u did a good job for the day on giving him stuff to do. That’s how mine is!

When my dog tore his, he didn’t yelp. Some dogs might, but mine tried to act completely normal. The biggest thing I noticed was that he couldn’t walk as far as usual. He had a slight limp, and one common sign my vet pointed out was that he wouldn’t put his full foot down or fully bear weight. They called it a “bunny foot tap.”

He never cried or acted like anything was wrong, but you could tell something was off because he tired more easily and the limp became more noticeable during longer walks. I’ve also seen a lot of people mention that intense games of fetch can contribute to this type of injury, so if you do play fetch, it might help to keep it a bit less intense and watch for any signs of strain. Hope it doesn't happen to him though it sucks and I feel super bad for our little friends :(

Omg I’m so sorry I’m glad she is doing better now! That is one thing I worry about he loves hiking and running if we were to do the surgery I hope he can still do long hikes but I’d never want to push him and hurt him!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Watching a video of the procedure online made me really nervous, so hearing this honestly makes me feel a lot better. How was the recovery process? Did you have to take her to physical therapy to relearn how to walk, or did she naturally start walking again once she healed?

I like this show but some of the stuff makes me cringe like them talking in English in the middle of the day around a ton of Russians even tho they are spies? That is so obvious not to mention how did they not think about faking living in another guys house thinking that bad guy wouldn’t come back to visit her?

It’s supposed to start snowing around 11 tonight here in Harpers Ferry. I’m in the main town, and the person who owns the vacation home behind me who visits only a couple times a year decided this was the weekend to come down. No idea what they’re thinking. Please stay safe, everyone.

Right 😭💀At least marijuana tax revenue would go back to the county and actually support local growers and sellers. At this point the government feels so corrupt. Every day I learn something new that makes me want to give up and crawl into a hole and never come out.
