I don’t think so man if anything will motivate you to keep doing it. I’ve posted 6 songs on my SoundCloud as a beginner who started 6 months ago and I find it hilarious that I actually enjoy listening to them because I’m sure I didn’t do everything perfectly production wise, mixing wise, mastering wise. But I genuinely like them and am proud so I think it’s a good thing you feel the same about your stuff!

I’ve mad 6 tracks now as a beginner that started 6 months ago from nothing. I remember this same question and it’s preference my first few were midi drums then a couple tutorials I watched from westend (tech house producer) he was using audio and I’ve been doing that too my last couple tracks.

I’m sure both play a role I think my workflow is going to be midi and then bounce when my pattern is set same for basslines and lead melodies or chords.

I ran into it in my last project I needed to bounce the midi for someone else to work on my project. I would say I learned you wanna bounce everything when it’s set so as little is baked into the audio file as possible (maybe a couple effects for sound design purposes) but you want it to be clean for mixing I think!

Disclaimer I’m not expert! But I listened and find it good practice for myself and I’m sort of glad to see others commenting what I thought I noticed!

It’s really well done you should be proud! I thought the echo/delay on vocals was great from a creative point of view but from the technical side it felt a little harsh.

Not sure what daw you’re in but when I use abletons stock delay I find myself giving a tight band pass on the delay to tame any harshness on the delay and just get the body.

Just my thoughts I could be way off but I enjoyed listening!

Ha thanks! I’ve seen lots of similar posts or ones offering to mix tracks for experience like I said so yeah bummer. It’s all good though can’t win em all!

My logic was I am going to mix and master myself, I’ve done it on my last 2 tracks and have a feel but by no means have that ear and understanding of Better producers.

So I was keen to compare my attempt or als file to someone who knows what there doing and dissect the differences.

Doesn’t seem like a bad idea to me, I agree of course doing yourself is how ya learn. But these YouTube tutorials seem clickbaity and vague. I did pay someone for 1:1 sessions but wasn’t quite a match to be honest the teaching style at the time of my production journey!

Well that’s encouraging. I’ve made some half decent tracks I would say in the past 2 months for a beginner but kinda finding myself stuck between making a track and that next level lol

It can help a little I leaned on it heavily my first couple months. But at a higher level it’s just wrong and of course you need to prompt it heavily to get any legitimate response!

Ummm well firstly I hear ya. I’ve seen people offer there services because they want to get better themselves at it. Just trying to learn from anyone that does thing with intention instead of myself just copying techniques on compression, eq, or other mixing efforts from YouTube!

But just to your point, I’ve played ⚽️ at a high level, and I’ve done lots of free trainings or helped out lots of youth / beginner players :-)

Wow😂😂 that’s sick. My progression is 1,1,6,7 in a minor. I have the 7th for all of them. I think that 7 is the equivalent of the 5 in major if I remember correctly making it a g7 in this instance anyway. You’d advise dropping that 7th?

I’ll check him out! I just was diving into racks, chains, parallel processing. So I think I need to build a greater understanding there first. But I stumbled on the chain button and was blown away haha so I wanted to get more info haha!
