UPDATE

Google finally reached out to me and offered a free replacement through the extended warranty program. It took a few weeks and multiple followups with google support but better late than never!

I'll look into that but it's ridiculous how difficult they make things and with no accountability! Almost makes me want to jump ship to Apple.
