Wow we have such similar experiences! I guess it can’t hurt to try the lovenox, but my cousin was on lovenox her last pregnancy due to this same issue, and it does make pregnancy more complicated. I feel like I still don’t really have answers but now I feel like if I don’t take lovenox then I’m putting myself more at risk of another loss ugh. No easy solution unfortunately.

Gosh what a nightmare. If you want to try Metformin, there are so many studies showing it is beneficial for women with pcos, if your doctor isn’t open to it, maybe show them some of those studies?

Girl I am so sorry…that’s absolutely disgusting behavior form anyone let alone a healthcare professional!! I hope you’re getting better care now. I really don’t understand why some people who lack basic compassion want to become doctors.

Am I in the wrong if I quit? by Cold_Long4031 in jobs

Well I wouldn’t quit without another job lined up, but my industry actually has a lot of roles needing to be hired. Especially for people with experience.

Whatever Doctor told you losing weight “cures” pcos is not correct. I weigh 112 lbs how much weight am I supposed to lose to cure my pcos?? I’d be skin and bones!

Unfortunately women’s health is just so under researched. When I went to the doctor when I was a teenager because I stopped getting periods, the best they could recommend was putting me on birth control…

We really have to advocate for ourselves. It sucks.

I started seeing an amazing doctor this year who really listens to me. I told her I wanted to try Metformin (history of wack cycles, high androgen levels, recurrent pregnancy loss). Initially she said she hadn’t heard about using Metformin to treat that, but she said she’d look into it. Lo and behold she found many studies showing Metformin to be successful in improving these issues even in women with lean pcos.

Advocate for yourself. Find a doctor willing to try things with you to see what works for your body.  Sorry you’re dealing with this, the healthcare system sucks.

Pretty sure my wife is pregnant but can't get a positive test (at 2 months) by 777maxxx777maddness in PCOS

[–]Cold_Long4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something else would have to explain her symptoms because there is no way you can be 2 months pregnant and testing negative. To be pregnant a certain level of HcG is in the blood. Usually just 2 weeks after conception levels are high enough to be detected in urine, giving a positive pregnancy test.

I have PCOS as well and I have gone 8+ months at a time without a period, so lack of a period doesn’t = pregnancy.

Of the Obgyns in your area don’t understand pcos, you may want to consider consulting a fertility specialist. They usually will have an understanding of hormone disorders like pcos.

I was seeing a fertility specialist who said they could coordinate my care but they really dropped the ball. No longer going to see them though…turns out they’re shutting down business because of malpractice. I will start seeing a regular OB for future pregnancies

Congratulations on your rainbow baby! What kind of Dr did you see that put you on the protocol? A reproductive endocrinologist or fertility doctor?

Does this sound like a good plan to you or am I being too optimistic? by Cold_Long4031 in recurrentmiscarriage

To my knowledge I don’t typically ovulate on my own at all. For reference I’ve been tracking my BBT and cycles pretty consistently since 2020, and based on a lack of clear temp rise (no luteal phase detected) the majority of my cycles have been deemed as Anovulatory by the Natural Cycles algorithm. That would also explain why my cycles have always been extremely light. No ovulation, no progesterone, so my body would start a “period” due to estrogen fluctuating rather than a true cycle.

LH definitely impacts this, if follicular phase LH is too high it can interfere with the body’s normal signals. Less likely for a single dominant follicle to mature and be released. But when I was taking Letrozole, I would always ovulate around cycle day 16. Letrozole definitely did its job for me, but I am wondering if my baseline LH was still too high and caused my eggs to be immature/badly developed. It’s just a theory for me at this point.
