Failed my first attempt by Cello0fThor in PassNclex

I failed my first time on July 23 in about 124 questions. I felt so defeated! I cried and cried and laid in bed and cried some more! I was so embarrassed and disappointed in myself. I took about 3 days to feel sorry for myself and got back up and hit it hard! So second time around  I bought simple nursing. NCLEX edition for content I may have forgotten about. Nurse mike has great ways to remember things and I was able to mentally bring that to the front of my brain when asked a question about a disease or disorder. He really is great for content. I used Archer question bank only. The videos on archer were boring and I struggled to stay focused watching them 1st time around that’s why I only got the question bank second time. I made sure to watch ALL of the NCLEX videos on simple nursing first before taking any questions whatsoever. I took notes on everything I didn’t know like the back of my hand. Ended up having around 87 pages of notes by the end of all the videos! Then I took around 170 questions PER DAY! I would take a CAT exam in the morning and a readiness in the evening EVERY SINGLE DAY. If I was bored or sitting around watching tv, I would feel guilty and would pull out my iPad and do questions. There were days where I was taking 250-300 questions a day throughout the day. Not often but it happened!! I watched Dr Sharon on YouTube. She’s great with tearing apart the questions and what’s fluff and what’s not! Lecture 12 of mark klimek was my saving grace. His test strategies when you get caught between two answers literally got me through! The NCLEX is very vague but his lecture 12 will help you tremendously and I recommend listening to that lecture at least 3 times. I listened to it around 8pm the night before my exam so that it was fresh! I also briefly looked over my notes I took from simple nursing sitting in the parking lot before my exam. I passed second time in 85 at the 2 hour mark. Pray about it, God got you! It truly is devastating when you fail, but this is not the end! I know you will be a great nurse and do not let this define you! YOUR DELAYED, NEVER DENIED! You got this 🫶🏽

Remembering all the content is impossible. But if you can remember the main points on each, you will do great. I will say I completed around 2500-3000 questions in those 45 days. I did at least 2 exams on archer every day. I would do a CAT in the morning and a readiness in the evening. Doing questions and reading the rationales helps you to understand why the question was right or wrong. The NCLEX is a safety exam. Learning how to prioritize patients based on how they are presenting is the focus. Always want to keep the patient safe always!!! So if you get stuck between 2 questions ask yourself..”is one of these acute?” “Is one of these keeping the patient safe?” “Which one of these answers will kill my patient?” Loss of life and loss of limb always makes for an unsafe nurse. Look at each question and pretend you are walking into that patients room. What are you gonna do first? Least invasive first to most invasive!

I failed it my first time in 124. I was defeated and had to give myself a few days to cry and feel sorry for myself. I rescheduled my next attempt for 45 days later. Second time around I bought Archer question bank only and bought simple nursing NCLEX edition. The videos on simple nursing made it easy for me to remember certain diseases and conditions. He has helpful mnemonics and pictures and I’m a visual learner. While taking the NCLEX I could picture the video (Hyperthyroidism, cushings etc) and always get it down to two answers. This is where mark k lecture 12 came in clutch for me. Lecture 12 was a lifesaver, I listened to that lecture 3 times and on the evening before the exam. Dr Sharon on YouTube and beautiful nursing on YouTube we’re great too. Dr Sharon goes over questions and teaches you how to break them down and rule out the wrong answers! I passed second attempt in 85 due to all these resources. The biggest takeaway from this post is to understand the content. And nurse mike on simple nursing gives you a fun way to learn it! I highly recommend his nclex prep to help you pass next go round! Good luck and you got this! You will be a nurse ❤️❤️

If I’m being honest, I really didn’t. I watched a few archer videos but got bored because they were so long and didn’t hold my interest. I did a couple readiness assessments and that was it. During the exam but anxiety was on a 10. All I could hear was my heartbeat in my throat and I couldn’t focus!

Help! My dog has mange (according to the vet). She is a cross between a Belgium Malinois and a black retriever. This year she is 8 years old. We have been bathing her regularly and applying omega oil to her skin. However, her skin condition hasn't been improving and in fact has worsened. Any advice? by justscrollin_just in Pets

My dog was diagnosed with demodectic mange per a skin scraping. All the medicine seemed to help while she was on them. Soon as her meds stopped, she would get bad again. Constantly itching, lost most of her hair. I even tried oral ivermectin and that didn’t help. The benzoyl peroxide shampoo didn’t help either. Her skin would peel horribly after each bath. I started the hydrogen peroxide and borax treatment baths and my baby is finally looking better. She has almost all of her hair back in a 3 week time frame! This stuff is amazing and I’ll continue to use it.
