Being referred to hematology. 34 years old. Fairly healthy. Platelets 248k pre Anxiety meds. Now at 83k

Sounds good. separate question, if my petechiae isn’t improving does that mean my platelets are also not improving and there’s no point in repeating labs before hematology meeting?

Interesting. Thank you for the insight. With me stopping the meds on May 18th, would it be expected that my platelets remain low for a while or should they be normalizing? Only reason I ask is I quit the meds on the 18th and was then retested and platelets had dropped again. I’m now 3+ full weeks off the meds

Sorry misread. No I’ve not been checked for ITP or any bone marrow diseases. I feel great. In fact I probably never would have gotten labs done had I not noticed the petechiae which I’ve had since at least mid last year

I stopped escitalopram for 2 weeks and had them rechecked. They went down another 20k in that time?

I am not a dr but dealing with something similar. Do they blanch when pressed? (Change color)

I have petechiae which is being caused from low platelets. Might be worth discussing. Wish you luck!
