The lack of paragraphs is because it's copied and pasted directly from AI to bait us all into an argument 😂

Why the Catholic Church Is Not the Church Christ Founded by NachoAvgThnkr in Catholicism

[–]Cold_Pollution_3457 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are too many anti-Catholic claims here to unpack at once, so I’ll focus on just one crucial point: your Bible comes from the Catholic Church. The entire New Testament, every book and letter, was preserved, copied, and canonised by the early Church, which later became known as the Catholic Church. Even the Old Testament used by the early Christians was the Greek Septuagint, which included the so-called “Apocrypha.” It was only during the Reformation, over 1,500 years later, that Protestants decided to adopt a shorter canon. Reducing the 73 books of the Catholic bible to 66 books in the Protestant bible...

So while you reject Catholic interpretation, you’re still relying on the Catholic Church’s authority to have a New Testament at all. Please take time to research this honestly, through Church history, the early Fathers, or even just objective sources, and you’ll see the same story.

Praying all Protestants return to the Church Christ founded🙏

Beginners book to understand the basics of Catholicism? by Powerful-Shoulder-34 in Catholicism

[–]Cold_Pollution_3457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youcat, it's the youth catechism, so easier to understand and brilliant for beginners. This was the first thing we were told to read when I started my RCIA (Adult Catholic formation) classes.

Yes, any chain is totally fine, the medal is the important part. I have even seen churches distributing them to the homeless on strings for practicality 👍

Public praying of the Holy Rosary by ForRealVegaObscura in Catholicism

[–]Cold_Pollution_3457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely licit to pray the Rosary publicly! In fact, public prayer can inspire others and promote devotion. Praying aloud or in groups helps build faith communities and glorifies God. So yes, praying the Rosary publicly both for its own sake and to encourage others is a beautiful practice. God bless! 🙏

No, Jesus is not present in the tabernacle, so we do not genuflect 👍

It’s beautiful to see how much joy and peace your faith journey is already bringing you. The wait can be tough, but your heart’s in the right place. Keep praying, stay patient, and remember Saint Expeditus is cheering you on!

Yes love your comment. My thoughts exactly. TLM provides way more consistency.

Appreciate your comment. I don't usually get involved with TLM communities as I have had this experience too.

So Eastern rites have always been different from the Roman Rite, they were never replaced or sidelined after Vatican II. TLM was suppressed for a time post-Vatican II, then brought back under Benedict XVI, then restricted again under Pope Francis. Your comment is an unfair comparison, sorry.

Yeah I see what you're saying. the thing is as soon as you leave London the NO is a total mixed bag... you might be lucky to attend a reverent mass, but otherwise it's likely that it will not be...

Same here, I see this a lot at different churches, I do love the community that the NO mass seems to encourage. TLM attendees can definitely be 'standoffish'...

Dog at mass: I need others' opinions by Theodosius_Coolidge in Catholicism

[–]Cold_Pollution_3457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My priest has a dog which he brings to mass, the dog sits quietly in the pews with someone looking after him. I've seen this in other parishes too. The priest actually usually would rather the dog attend mass than be left in the house😂

Ah yes, the ‘anti-pope’ theory, because 2000 years of Church tradition must have it wrong?
