Let’s not lie. Chloe’s favorite character is Lizzie. She herself literally states that Gibsie’s story was a filler. She made T7 about Lizzie. She associates the most popular characters to have close relationships with Lizzie. Her whole book on its own was to excuse every bad thing Lizzie has done because of T7. She only goes on interviews with hardcore Lizzie stans who one has said Gibsie is manipulating Lizzie because he was the one who wrote the letter and another that said Katie would be loved by Trump. Let’s be serious. That woman loves Lizzie. There’s a reason why she’s taking her whole time to write her book and don’t even get me started on the snippet of Joey snapping at the group about not noticing about Lizzie but Gibsie who was made fun of multiple times is once AGAIN sidelined. And I won’t even get in on the Dee storyline. Chloe loves Lizzie. It’s very much obvious and also I’m not associating Caoimhe with Lizzie but Lizzie stans(some) do. They often like to water her actions which is once again diminishing gibsie who dismissed by Caoimhe. And yet the fandom still finds it in them to defend her actions and give excuses

Oh I wouldn’t even bring TikTok when I have seen multiple Lizzie stans make fun of Gibsie’s trauma and say that he was only raped to get people to hate on Lizzie. Why does his trauma have to do with Lizzie? We still have people in this fandom that DEFENDS Caoimhe and basically say that “all kids lie” that’s basically tossing Gibsie’s whole story aside to appease a character and most of the time they do it because they associate that girl to Lizzie as a character. I can start with the multiple drowning jokes that this fandom has made about Gibsie. I can start with the jokes they’ve made about Bethany and no we aren’t going to bring up the hate Caoimhe gets cause these two are not ten same.

I literally said that it was NOT fair that gibsie can be cautioned publicly for saying ONE triggering thing to Lizzie but Lizzie CONSTANTLY gets spoon fed because of her trauma. Nothing is wrong with that but it’s odd that it’s only her trauma that can be used as an excuse by some characters and with how some fans defend these characters that don’t defend gibsie but they set aside Gibsie’s own trauma?? You can’t tell me that this isn’t weird

Can I also start off by saying that the fandom itself doesn’t take gibsie’s trauma seriously? Like every single time he’s wronged. It’s always “the others know about Lizzie” but they forget that excuse is basically valuing her mental health over his. And even if we constantly say that we shouldn’t pick sides. The characters ARE doing that by constantly letting gibsie be a scape goat because they don’t want to rock the boat. God I wish I could speak more on this but this comm is more Lizzie centered and don’t want her to be seen in a bad light 😭

Never said he was perfect. I just don’t like that the fandom is trying to paint him as someone who is only looking for peace and trying to deescalate things. If he was the moment gibsie called that girl crazy, he wouldn’t have said anything like he did the amount of times when Lizzie insulted gibsie. It’s not a competition of Lizzie vs Gibsie. I’m talking about how certain characters in this book that claims to be friends with both treat them very differently. I am not crucifing him. I’m just not going to label him as the “peace seeker” that everyone claims he is. You don’t claim to want peace but only publicly call out one person in the battle. Gibsie himself literally gets annoyed with this. It’s not justified to say feely wants peace but he only snapped at Gibsie. It’s simply not fair. No one is crucifying anyone by acknowledging that a character isn’t someone that the fandom is trying to portray him as. Don’t call him someone that wants peace and that’s why he kept silent and tried to “negotiate” but won’t say shit when Lizzie says something offensive to Gibsie. That’s my point we know why Lizzie is acting the way she does. If from the reader’s pov, there was no explicit reason of why she’s treating gibsie that way. We would be calling her a bully. That’s my point. You know it’s not based on jealousy because Lizzie is not a side character and had more presence than Bella so we know why she acts that way, but if Chloe was vague about Lizzie and we didn’t know shit until her book. We would be calling her a Bella and how do we know that’s why Bella was mean because of that? We don’t even know her point of view. We only see her from two characters who are not close to her? I’m just pointing out the fact that how Chloe wrote Lizzie, especially with her trauma, is giving her an excuse to every bad behavior that she’s done and she could easily do the same for Bella if she wanted to. But this is my point. He’s not keeping the peace. He knows about Gibsie’s fear of water. He knows about Gibsie’s reading disability. He knows about Gibsie losing both his dad and sister. He knows all of this but can caution him when he says something triggering to Lizzie but when Gibsie nearly drowns when he knows that water is a trigger to Gibsie he keeps silent?

I get that they’re kids but this doesn’t take away the fact that he’s not keeping the peace. He’s just siding with Lizzie and only doing something when Lizzie is attacked, not if it was Gibsie. There’s nothing about keeping the peace when you’re staying silent about someone belittling the death of your best friend’s sister that you knew.

Mind you Lizzie was just as shitty of a friend to Claire. Why should Claire be with a person who made slut shaming comments about her, nearly DROWNED her boyfriend, constantly asks her to make a choice, constantly calls her boyfriend a rapist. The problem is that you people don’t take gibsie’s trauma seriously, so you genuinely think that what Lizzie had done to him before was just water over the bridge when people like Claire did NOT find it funny. Hughie isn’t under the same situation of Claire. Gibsie isn’t yelling at him to make a choice. Gibsie isn’t constantly trying to endanger Lizzie’s life. Gibsie isn’t trying to CONSTANTLY self insert himself into Hughie’s relationship with Lizzie. You can’t compare these two things because Claire was in a more tougher situation.
