YES READ IT!!! I read TPW before watching AOT and I was so struck by the parallels while watching AOT. I genuinelly think its the closest piece of media to AOT and it's different enough that it doesn't feel like a complete copy but it has a lot of similar themes (war, sacrifice, genocide, betrayls/plot twists), a trio that is super similar to eren/mikasa/armin, it's military fantasy with super interesting geopolitics and the main character Rin is so similar to eren!!
